SECTION 16110 <br /> RACEWAYS <br /> PARTI - GENERAL <br /> 1 . 01 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> A . Furnish and install complete raceway systems as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. <br /> 1 .02 APPLICATIONS <br /> A. Except where otherwise shown on the Drawings , or hereinafter specified, all exposed raceways <br /> shall be rigid galvanized steel. Schedule 80 PVC may be used where exposed inside corrosive <br /> areas . <br /> Be Schedule 40 PVC shall be used underground, unless otherwise noted . Transitions to exposed, <br /> outdoor locations shall be made using rigid galvanized steel conduit starting with the last 90 <br /> degree elbow. <br /> C . All conduit of a given type shall be the product of one manufacturer . <br /> D. Combination expansion-deflection fittings shall be used where exposed or embedded conduits <br /> cross structure expansion joints . <br /> E. Liquidtight flexible metal conduit (between 18" and 36" in length) shall be used for all motor <br /> terminations and other equipment where vibration is present. All flexible conduits shall use a <br /> bonding wire unless a ground wire is included . <br /> F. Unless otherwise hereinafter specified or shown on the Drawings, all boxes shall be metal . This <br /> does not apply to buried work. <br /> PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 RIGID CONDUIT <br /> A. Steel conduit shall be hot-dipped galvanized as manufactured by the Youngstown Sheet and Tube <br /> Company, Allied Tube and Conduit Corporation, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, or <br /> approved equal . <br /> Be PVC conduit shall be rigid polyvinyl chloride type as manufactured by Carlon, an Indian Head <br /> Company, Phillips Petroleum Company, Triangle Pipe and Tube Company, Inc., or approved <br /> equal . <br /> 2.02 LIQUIDTIGHT, FLEXIBLE METAL CONDUIT, COUPLINGS AND FITTINGS <br /> I - <br /> j A. Liquidtight, flexible metal conduit shall be Sealtite, Type UA, manufactured by the Anaconda <br /> Metal Hose Division, Anaconda American Brass Company, American Flexible Conduit <br /> Company, Inc. , Universal Metal Hose Company, or approved equal. <br /> 044572017 <br /> 16110 - 1 <br />
