WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31, 1975 <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />MET IN SPECIAL SESSION AT THE COURTHOUSE, VERO BEACH, FLORIDA ON WEDNESDAY, <br />DECEMBER 311, 1975 AT 10:00 O'CLOCK A.M. PRESENT WERE ALMA LEE LOY, CHAIR- <br />MAN; WILLARD W. SIEBERT, JR,, VICE CHAIRMAN; EDWARD J, MASSEY; WILLIAM C. <br />WODTKE, JR, ABSENT WAS EDWIN S. SCHMUCKER, ALSO PRESENT WERE JACK G. <br />JENNINGS, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR; L,S, "TOMMY" THOMAS, COUNTY COORDINATOR <br />AND ELIZABETH FORLANI, DEPUTY CLERK, PAUL D. BURCH, ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD <br />OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WAS ABSENT DUE TO ILLNESS AND GEORGE G. COLLINS, JR., <br />ATTORNEY, SAT IN FOR HIM. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER. <br />CHAIRMAN LOY INFORMED THE BOARD OF A LETTER RECEIVED FROM JOHN <br />LITTLE, CITY MANAGER, REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF INTERIM PLANNING SERVICES <br />BY THE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT FOR A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY NINETY (90) <br />DAYS, FROM JANUARY 1ST THROUGH MARCH 31, 1976, THE LETTER CONTINUED THAT <br />THEIR IMMEDIATE NEEDS WOULD BE MINIMAL, <br />VAL BRENNAN, PLANNING DIRECTOR, APPEARED AND STATED THAT HE HAD <br />PREPARED A REPORT OF THE CITY'S EXPENSES FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS AND PRE- <br />SENTED IT TO THE BOARD, HE EXPLAINED THAT HIS STAFF HAS A GREAT DEAL OF <br />WORK TO ACCOMPLISH IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY WITH THE ADDITION OF PROGRAMS <br />THAT HAD NOT BEEN ANTICIPATED, HE CONTINUED THAT BECAUSE THE CITY'S DEMANDS <br />ARE SMALL, THEY CANNOT HIRE SOMEONE TO DO THAT WORK, THE SMALL AMOUNT OF <br />WORK THAT THE CITY IS REQUESTING WILL BE DONE BY THE PLANNING STAFF OF FOUR, <br />CHAIRMAN LOY STATED THAT THE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY PASSED ON <br />SEPTEMBER 18, 1975, WAS BASED ON THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT'S AVAILABLE TIME, <br />AND BASED ON MR. LITTLE'S REQUEST SHE ASSUMED THEY ARE NOT LOOKING FOR <br />ANYTHING BUT BASIC MINIMAL SERVICES, WHICH IS ALL THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />CAN GIVE. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE SUGGESTED POSSIBLY WORKING ON A MONTH TO <br />MONTH BASIS INSTEAD OF ON A THREE-MONTH BASIS BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT WE <br />ARE TRYING TO RELOCATE THE' PLANNING DEPARTMENT IN JANUARY, <br />DEC 311975 eoox 24 Ac€23i <br />
