DEFINITIONS: <br />For the purpose of this Resolution, certain terms and words are defined as follows: <br />Words used in the present tense include the future; wards in the singular number include <br />the plural number, and words in the plural number includethe singular number unless the <br />natural construction of the wording indicated otherwise; the words "used for" shall include the <br />mean <br />ord "lot" <br />shall include the wordned '; the "plot"word and "tract ; and the cture" shall <br />wordl"shallde " isword <br />mandat mand"; the atory not directory. <br />directory. <br />shall <br />ACCESSORY USE OF BUILDING: A subordinate use of building customarily incident to <br />and located upon the same lot occupied by the main use of building. <br />APARTMENT HOUSE: See Dwelling, multiple. <br />AUTOMOBILE TOURIST COURT: See Motel, or Tourist, Camp. <br />BARBECUE STANDS, <br />ids made for automobileECUE PITS OR PIG s to co congregate for he purpose of places where <br />space is provided orallowance <br />ser- <br />ving occupants with refreshments. <br />BARS: Any place devoted primarily to the selling or dispensing and drinking of malt, <br />vinous or other alcoholic beverages. <br />BUILDING: Any structures having a roof supported by columns or walls. <br />BUILDING, HEIGHT OF: The vertical distance meagsured from the average elevation of <br />the proposed finished grade at the front of the building to the highest point of the roof for flat <br />• roofs; to the deck line of mansard roofs, and to the mean height between the eaves and ridge <br />for gable, hip or gambrel roofs. <br />• <br />DAY NURSERY: An incidental use of a home for the care of children on a daily or week- <br />ly basis. <br />DWELLING, MULTIPLE: A building or portion thereof used or designed as a rasidence <br />for three or more families living independently of each other. <br />DWELLING, SINGLE FAMILY. A detached building designed for, or occupied exclusively <br />• <br />by one family as a housekeeping unit. <br />• <br />DWELLING, TWO FAMILY (DUPLEX): A detached building designed for or occupied <br />exclusively by two farnil1 s living independently of each other. <br />DWELLING, TWO STORY: A building which has living area on both floors in reasonable <br />proportion to one another. <br />• <br />- FAMILY: Any, number of individuals living together as a single housekeeper's unit and <br />doing their cooking on the premises,• as distinguished from a group occupying a boarding house, <br />lodging house or hotel as herein defined. <br />FENCE: A fence shall not be interpreted as a structure unless it is more than six feet in <br />height or obstructs vision at an intersection. <br />• <br />FRONTAGE: All the property abutting on one (1) side of a street between two (2) inter- <br />secting streets; measured along the street line. <br />• <br />FRUIT STANDS: A building used exclusively for the retail sale of citrus fruit, and any <br />treatment or processing of produce must be clearly incidental to the conduct of a retail busi- <br />ness. <br />GARAGE, PRIVATE: A detached accessory building or portion of a main building for the . <br />parking or temporary storage of automobiles of the occupants of the premises.. Private garage <br />shall include carport. <br />
