The ENGINEER, at his discretion, may reject a laboratory <br /> and request other choices of laboratories . <br /> 2 . 02 TEST PUMP <br /> A . Furnish and install a test pump and driver capable of pumping from 500 to 2,000 <br /> gallons per minute (gpm) . The pump equipment shall be suitable for accommodating <br /> the video and geophysical logging operations under pumping conditions. <br /> B . Provide a butterfly valve, or equal , on the discharge side of the pump for adjustment of <br /> flow rate down to 500 gpm if the test pump engine cannot be sufficiently throttled. <br /> C . The pumping unit prime mover, controls, and appurtenances shall be capable of being <br /> operated without interruption for a period of 12 hours. <br /> D. CONTRACTOR shall furnish engine-driven equipment or shall make his own <br /> arrangements for power for well pumping tests . <br /> E . The pump, motor, and discharge head shall be installed such that the well can be <br /> accessed to run geophysical logs while pumping, and to provide access for water level <br /> measurements as required by the ENGINEER . <br /> 2 . 03 FLOW MEASURING DEVICE <br /> A . Provide both machined orifice plate(s) and flowmeter(s) capable of measuring the <br /> pump discharge within + 5 percent of true flow for flow rates from 500 to 2 ,000 gpm . <br /> 2 . 04 DISCHARGE PIPING <br /> A. Furnish, install, maintain, and operate discharge piping for the pump unit of sufficient <br /> size to conduct pumped water to the designated discharge location as directed by the <br /> ENGINEER, (up to 500 feet from the well). The CONTRACTOR shall install a valve <br /> and spigot along the discharge pipe within five feet of the wellhead <br /> 2 . 05 ACCESS PIPE <br /> A . Provide and install a ] -inch minimum ID pipe to permit installation of a steel tape, <br /> bubbler airline, or electric measuring device famished by the CONTRACTOR.
