The Operations Plan is subject to COUNTY approval and will be discussed at the Pre-Construction <br /> Meeting following the Notice of Contract Award. <br /> 26. PLANT FOR BEACH FILL PLACEMENT <br /> The CONTRACTOR has the option of specifying equipment to be utilized for this project with the <br /> understanding that the CONTRACTOR agrees to keep a sufficient dredging plant(s), pipeline and <br /> equipment on the site and operational to place a minimum of 8,000 cubic yards per 24-hour working <br /> day to the site from the offshore borrow site and a minimum of 4,000 cubic yards per 24-hour period <br /> from the Sebastian Inlet borrow site, and the CONTRACTOR shall meet the requirements and <br /> schedule of the work. The plant and equipment shall be specified and included with the bid. The <br /> plant(s) shall be in satisfactory operating condition and capable of safety and efficiently performing <br /> the work as set forth in the Technical Specifications, Plans and all contract documents. The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall provide transportation for COUNTY and ENGINEER inspectors to and from <br /> the plant(s) as requested. <br /> No reduction in the capacity of the plant(s), pipeline or equipment employed on this project shall be <br /> made except by written permission of the COUNTY. The measure of the "capacity of the plant" <br /> shall be determined by actual performance on this project. The COUNTY, at their discretion, may <br /> order afield test of the capacity of the plant at the CONTRACTOR' S expense. If the plant, in the <br /> COUNTY'S opinion, is not of sufficient capacity, the COUNTY may direct the CONTRACTOR to <br /> replace the plant(s) with larger capacity plant(s) at the CONTRACTOR' S expense, or to increase the <br /> number of personnel working on the project at the sole expense of the contractor. <br /> 27. EQUIPMENT MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION <br /> Mobilization and demobilization to and from the project site shall be controlled by the <br /> CONTRACTOR to avoid contact with any and all hardbottom formations. All relevant requirements <br /> of the permits shall be strictly followed by the CONTRACTOR. <br /> 27 . 1 Mobilization. The CONTRACTOR shall perform the preparatory work and <br /> operations in mobilizing for beginning work on the Project, including, but not limited <br /> to, those operations necessary for the movement of personnel , equipment, supplies <br /> and incidentals to the project site, and for the establishment of temporary haul roads, <br /> temporary offices, buildings, safety equipment and first aid supplies, sanitary and <br /> other facilities, as required by Section 101 of the Florida Department of <br /> Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, <br /> 2002, and State and local laws and regulations. The costs of bonds and any required <br /> insurance, and any other pre-construction expense necessary for the start of the work, <br /> excluding the cost of construction materials, shall also be included. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall be familiar with the weight of all equipment and weight <br /> restrictions of all roadways and bridges that are necessary to mobilize to the site or <br /> transport spoil off the site. <br /> TECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS Rev October 5. 2007 TS-25 <br />
