to further comply with Sections 31 . 16 of these Technical Specifications. As a <br /> condition of acceptance, the CONTRACTOR is to grade and dress the fill on the <br /> beach in such a manner as to establish a uniform berm width and slope between <br /> adjacent pay profile lines. The slope from the toe of dune and the seaward edcre of <br /> the berm shall be IV: 10011. The berm elevation and cross-section shall be <br /> constructed according to the Plans. The CONTRACTOR shall not be required to <br /> dress the fill below mean high water to the slope shown . <br /> 31 .5 Tolerances. The vertical tolerance is 0.5 feet below the template and 0.5 feet above <br /> the template. Unless approved by the COUNTY, fill placement must at least meet the <br /> 0 . 5-foot tolerance below the template. <br /> 31 . 6 Materials Placed Outside the Work Area. If any material is deposited outside the <br /> work area, the CONTRACTOR may be required to remove such misplaced material <br /> and redeposit it as directed by the COUNTY, at the CONTRACTOR's expense. <br /> 31 .7 Sand Ramos . The CONTRACTOR is required to build and maintain pedestrian sand <br /> ramps 15 feet wide over the shore pipe at 250-foot intervals to allow pedestrian <br /> access to the water. Sand ramps shall also be required at the beach access point for <br /> all public beach accesses in the project area. Additional ramps shall be constructed in <br /> front of all stairways down to thebeach and in front of all dune overwalks. Following <br /> construction, the pipe shall be removed and the beach in the area of the ramps leveled <br /> and dressed. <br /> 31 .8 Project Lighting. If construction proceeds past March 1 , all project lighting shall be <br /> limited to the immediate area of active construction only and shall be the minimum <br /> lighting necessary to comply with US Coast Guard and/or OSHA requirements. <br /> 31 .9 Temporary Facilities. The CONTRACTOR shall provide electrical power, water <br /> and other utilities as he/she may require for his/her construction purposes, and <br /> shall pay all costs incurred unless otherwise provided in the Contract Documents. <br /> At completion of the contract, all temporary facilities shall be removed from the <br /> site at CONTRACTOR expense. <br /> 31 . 10 Work Areas. The construction and borrow area limits available to the <br /> CONTRACTOR for accomplishing the work are shown on the Plans . The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall minimize disruption to traffic on State Road Al A. Temporary <br /> areas for storage and maintenance of construction equipment shall be restricted to <br /> specified areas proposed by the CONTRACTOR and approved by the COUNTY. <br /> Storage areas shall be kept neat and orderly in the interest of public safety. <br /> 31 . 11 Construction Access Areas. The CONTRACTOR shall limit construction access to <br /> the beach to the locations shown on the drawings or as approved by the COUNTY. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall exercise caution when accessing and driving on the beach . <br /> Sections of the beach are heavily used by the public during all periods of the year. <br /> The COUNTY shall determine if repairs are required and the COUNTY shall <br /> TECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS Rev October 5. 2007 TS-30 <br />
