Tax Assessor Homer C. Fletcher introduced Mr. B. J. Mawhinney, <br />Assistant Comptroller,and Mr. Billy Givens, Director of County Finance. <br />Mr. Mawhinney stated that they have delivered to the Tax Assessor, <br />approval of the recapitulation tables of the 1966 Tax Roll for Indian <br />River County, and read a statement from Fred O. (Bud) Dickinson, <br />Comptroller, in which he congratulated Mr. Fletcher for his compliance <br />with the Order of the Supreme Court for 100%, full value property <br />assessment. <br />Commissioner Haffield moved that the Board reconvene. as a Board <br />of Equalization on Monday, November 14,, 1966, at 8:30 o'clock A. M., <br />and that the Notice of Reconvening be advertised. Motion was. seconded <br />by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Waddell, and unanimously carried, the following procedure was adopted <br />for persons wishing to appear before the Board of Equalization: <br />Before the Board will discuss the assessment of any <br />particular piece of property, the owner should have <br />discussed the tax assessment with the Tax Assessor. <br />If he is still dissatisfied, he should file a formal', <br />Petition to the Board of Equalization, in duplicate, <br />with the Clerk. The Clerk will number the Petitions <br />as they are filed and they will be considered in that <br />order. <br />Upon Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and unanimously carried, the Administrator was authorized <br />to proceed with the placement of school bus stop shelters at the <br />six (6) locations recommended by the Board -sof Public Instruction. <br />Commissioner Waddell moved that the Beverage Department be <br />notified that the. application of Maxine Coleman for a beer and.wine <br />package sales only license, at 33rd Avenue and 43rd Street in Gifford, <br />does conform to the Zoning Regulations of the County. <br />Mr. Jennings reported that he has discussed the Minute Maid right- <br />of-way proposal with the County Engineer and Administrator of St.. Lucie <br />County and making all progress that they can at this time. <br />Mr. Jennings presented a Petition, signed by ten property owners, <br />dated October 18, 1966, requesting attention to a very bad drainage <br />situation existing in the immediate vicinity of 45th Avenue and 18th <br />OCT 19 1966 gobk 10 PAGE 21. <br />
