Excavation for Test Pits - Unclassified <br /> Description <br /> Excavation for test pits shall include test excavations to determine precise locations of utilities, <br /> ' including culverts, sewers, water pipe, gas pipe, conduits, cable, manholes, inlets and similar <br /> structures . <br /> tMaterials <br /> No materials are required. <br /> Method of Construction <br /> Before laying pipe line, the Contractor shall ascertain the location and grade of utility pipes and <br /> other subsurface structures which may interfere with such construction. Test pits shall be <br /> ' excavated wherever necessary to obtain the required information, subject to the approval of the <br /> Engineer. The Contractor shall determine the precise locations of utilities being crossed by the <br /> construction. The Engineer shall then determine the alignment of the construction which will <br /> avoid conflict with existing utilities. <br /> ' 2.2 .2 Saw Cut Pavement <br /> Description <br /> ' This item of work shall consist of saw cutting of the bituminous and concrete roadway, <br /> driveways and sidewalks, in accordance with these Specifications and within reasonable <br /> conformity to the lines shown on the drawing and/or as directed by the Engineer. <br /> Materials <br /> ' No materials are required for this item of work. <br /> ' 5 <br />
