In the paragraph with reference to insurance rate reductions, <br />would paragraph 1.A,3. of the Vero Beach Area apply to any residence <br />located over any distance over five hundred feet from a fire hydrant.• <br />2. In the Wabasso, Sebastian and Fellsmere areas, does the <br />County correctly assume that these rate reductions are effective <br />irrespective of the distance from recognized fire hydrants? <br />3. In order to evaluate the relative cost of each of the proposed <br />areas, as compared to the direct benefit of insurance rate reductions, <br />how long would it take, after the establishment of fire protection in <br />each district, for the reduced rates to become effective? <br />4. What is the actual or estimated total rate reductions per <br />year in each of the districts? <br />5. Please furnish, in addition to the initial capital expenditure,: <br />required to establish fire protection in each of the districts, the <br />estimated annual cost of maintaining each district, including allowance <br />for replacement of capital expenditures in addition to capital expendi- <br />tures. <br />Commissioner Macdonald reported'. that Mrs. Severin Hanson has <br />offered to give. the County fill from ponds on her property to build <br />and stabilize the shoulders to the full 80' right-of-way width, at <br />the points where the ponds come into the right-of-way on Roseland Road, <br />a short distance west of U.S.#1. Commissioner Macdonald stated that <br />this would enable the County to get fill and also enable the Roseland' <br />Garden.Club to complete their beautification plans for that area. <br />After discusssion, Commissioner Macdonald moved that the County Adminis- <br />trator be authorized to make this improvement on Roseland Road when con- <br />venient for him to use the men and material. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Dritenbas and unanimously carried. <br />Commissioner Macdonald also reported that Mrs. Hanson has offered <br />to convey to the County all of. Block 30, Townsite of Roseland, for a <br />playground. The County Attorney was requested to prepare the necessary <br />papers for Mrs. Hanson to sign. ' <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Dritenbas and unanimously carried, that the salary of Sherman N. Smith, <br />JAN 1 R 1967 BOOK 10 PACE 235 <br />
