Be Design drawings shall be prepared by a qualified, appropriately licensed <br />professional and shall be identified by reference to specification section number, <br />sheet, and detail numbers on the Contract Drawings. <br />1.5 SAMPLES <br />A. Samples are physical examples to illustrate materials, equipment, or <br />workmanship and to establish standards by which work is to be evaluated. <br />Samples are further defined in Section 01330. <br />1.6 CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUBMITTAL OF SHOP <br />DRAWINGS, DESIGN DRAWINGS, PRODUCT DATA, AND SAMPLES <br />A. The CONTRACTOR's responsibilities for submittal of shop drawings, design <br />drawings, product data, and samples are set forth in paragraph 6.17 of the <br />General Conditions and as further explained herein. <br />Be Prior to submission, thoroughly check shop drawings, design drawings, product <br />data, and samples for completeness and for compliance with the Contract <br />Documents, verify all dimensions and field conditions, and coordinate the shop <br />drawings with the requirements for other related work. Also review each shop <br />drawing before submitting it to the ENGINEER to determine that it is acceptable <br />in terms of the means, methods, techniques, sequences and operations of <br />construction, safety precautions and programs incidental thereto, all of which are <br />the CONTRACTOR's responsibility. <br />1. It is CONTRACTOR'S responsibility to review submittals made by his <br />suppliers and Subcontractors before transmitting them to ENGINEER to <br />assure proper coordination of the Work and to determine that each <br />submittal is in accordance with its desires and that there is sufficient <br />information about materials and equipment for ENGINEER or <br />ENGINEER'S CONSULTANT to determine compliance with the Contract <br />Documents, <br />2. Incomplete or inadequate submittals will be returned for revision without <br />review. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR's responsibility for errors and omissions in submittals is not <br />relieved by the ENGINEER's or ENGINEER's CONSULTANT's review of <br />submittals. The CONTRACTOR shall approve the shop drawings based on his <br />in -the -field measurements, prior to submittal to the ENGINEER for review. <br />D.
