Surface structures include but are not limited to, buildings, <br />tanks, walls, bridges, roads (paved or unpaved), dams, channels, open <br />drainage, piping, poles, wires, posts, signs, markers, curbs, walks and all other <br />facilities that are visible above the ground surface. <br />C. Protection of Underground and Surface Structures: <br />1. Sustain in-place and protect from direct or indirect injury, all underground and <br />surface structures located within or adjacent to the limits of the Work. Such <br />sustaining and supporting shall be done carefully, and as required by the party <br />owning or controlling such structure. <br />2. Assume all risks attending the presence or proximity of all underground and <br />surface structures within or adjacent to the limits of the Work. CONTRACTOR <br />shall be responsible for all damage and expense for direct or indirect injury <br />caused by its work to any structure. CONTRACTOR shall repair immediately <br />all damage caused by its work, to the satisfaction of the owner of the damaged <br />structure. <br />D. All other existing surface facilities, including but not limited to, guardrails, posts, <br />guard cables, signs, poles, markers, and curbs which are temporarily removed to <br />facilitate installation of the Work shall be replaced and restored to their original <br />condition at CONTRACTOR'S expense. <br />1.5 PROTECTION OF INSTALLED PRODUCTS AND LANDSCAPING <br />A. Provide protection of installed products to prevent damage from subsequent <br />operations. Remove protection facilities when no longer needed. <br />B. Control traffic to prevent damage to equipment, materials, and surfaces. <br />C. Provide coverings to protect equipment and materials from damage. <br />D. Cover projections, wall corners, jambs, sills, and soffits of openings, etc. in areas <br />used for traffic and for passage of products in subsequent work. <br />1.6 PROTECTION OF THE WORK FROM STORMWATER RUNOFF <br />A. Protect the Work from damage caused by stormwater runoff from rainfall. Comply <br />with the requirements of Section 02225. During the course of construction, it is <br />possible that heavy rains may occur.
