L <br /> After the prime coat has had adequate time to cure, and prior to the <br /> installation of a temporary surface course, the Contractor shall clean the <br /> prepared base of all loose sand and other deleterious materials . If, in <br /> the opinion of the Engineer, the prepared surface is unsuitable to receive <br /> the temporary surface course without tacking, a tack coat. Once the <br /> surface has been properly prepared, the Contractor shall install a 2- inch <br /> layer of Type II Asphaltic Concrete in accordance with the details shown <br /> on the Plans as a temporary surface course . Said Type II Asphaltic <br /> Concrete shall conform to all of the applicable requirements of Section 332 <br /> of the Florida Department of Transportation " Standard Specifications for <br /> Road and Bridge Construction, " 2000 except that "Job Mix Formula" will <br /> not be required. <br /> The temporary surface course may be spread with a spreader box in lieu of <br /> a self-propelled mechanical spreader. <br /> B . State-Owned Public Pavement <br /> 1 ) Restoration within all State-owned and maintained paved rights-of-way shall <br /> be made in strict compliance with these specifications and the details shown <br /> on the Plans . All construction materials and procedures shall conform to <br /> the Florida Department of Transportation " Standard Specifications for Road <br /> and Bridge Construction, " 2006 Edition. <br /> 2) All work shall be subject to final inspection and approval of the Florida <br /> Department of Transportation and shall be completed as expeditiously as <br /> possible . <br /> C . Driveways, Parking Lots and Miscellaneous Thoroughfares <br /> 1 ) All driveways , parking lots, unpaved streets, and other miscellaneous <br /> thoroughfares disturbed by trenching operations shall receive a <br /> minimum 6-inch thickness of base course as previously specified in <br /> paragraph 3 .A. 1 ) above . Those areas with surface finishes (asphalt, rock, <br /> concrete, etc . ) disturbed by trenching operations shall have the final surface <br /> courses replaced in kind with a minimum 14nch thickness surface course , <br /> except for concrete which shall be a minimum thickness of 4-inches . <br /> The Contractor's attention is called to the fact that all surface <br /> improvements constructed since the date of base mapping may not be <br /> shown and that the Contractor is required to repair all surfaces <br /> disturbed by construction, whether shown on the plans or not. <br /> D . Rights- of-Way and/or Easements in Grass and Shrubbery Plots <br /> 1 ) Rights-of--way and/or easements in grass and shrubbery plots shall be <br /> restored to the condition existing prior to making the excavation . All <br /> shrubbery, ornamental trees and other plantings shall be fully <br /> protected. If it is found necessary to remove any grass, shrubbery or <br /> 02900 — Off-Site Surface Restoration <br /> 02900 - 3 <br />
