With regard to the request; of Mrs, Arnold to move a small
building that is on County property in Whispering Palms Subdivision,
the Administrator reported that the building is of sound construction
and was moved to its present location to provide a pick-up point for
children riding the school bus. A petition was received signed
by residents of Whispering Palms Subdivision or Beachwood Estates
Subdivision requesting that this corner (1st. Street, S. W. and 6th
Drive, S. inn remain the pick-up point for children riding the school
bus. Cpmmissioner Dritenbas stated
that the reason this has become
-a controversial issue is that Mrs. Arnold's home is nearest to the
building and children are in the building until early morning creating
disturbance.
After discussion, Commissioner Dritenbas moved that
signs be placed on the building stating that it is to be used only
.for school bus pick-up during certain hours and also thatthe position
of the building be shifted 900 so that the front of the building does
not face Mr. Arnold's driveway. Motion was seconded by Commissioner
McCullers and unanimously carried.
