Addendum #1 11 -06-2013 <br /> by the addition of the following : <br /> Any stratum or stockpile or soil which contains obvious pockets of highly organic <br /> material may be designated as muck or unsuitable for construction of subgrade by the <br /> Owner. <br /> Backfill material containing more than 2 . 0 % by weight of organic material , as <br /> determined by FM 1 -T 267 and by averaging the test results for three randomly <br /> selected samples from each stratum or stockpile of a particular material , shall not be <br /> used in construction of the reinforced volume . If an individual test value of the three <br /> samples exceeds 3 . 0 % , the stratum or stockpile will not be suitable for construction of <br /> the reinforced volume . <br /> No A-8 material permitted in embankment . <br /> Contractor to remove existing grassing at beginning of outfield of the " Little League <br /> Field " to eliminate the berm and minimize the dip . 4" of clay shall be installed and <br /> graded to minimize the dip . This work will provide a temporary extension to the infield . <br /> This work shall be immediately following the notice to proceed , and will be considered <br /> Phase I of the project . <br /> Warning track material shall be the same as infield material with some slightly larger <br /> particles to provide "crunch factor" , increased percolation and detectable surface that <br /> can be felt under foot to warn player of the fence ahead . Material must be prem <br /> approved by Indian River County prior to installation . <br /> Installation of infield clay shall include the cost of relocation of the existing Base Traps . <br /> E . Payment shall be made under: <br /> Bid Item No . 6 — Embankment Spreading & Laser Grading of In- Place Fill Material <br /> — Per Lump Sum <br /> Bid Item No . 7 — 3 " Special Fill Mix to Achieve Minimum Permeability Rate of <br /> 12 '/Day ( In Place Quantity) — Per Cubic Yard <br /> Bid Item No . 8 — Remove existing grass and install minimum 4" thick clay at the <br /> beginning of outfield at Little League Field ( estimated 32 cy of clay) <br /> — Per Lump Sum <br /> Bid Item No . 9 — Infield Clay 3" — 6" Thick (as needed )(Truck Measured ) — Per <br /> Cubic Yard <br /> Bid Item No . 10 — Warning Track (Truck Measured ) — Per Cubic Yard <br /> SECTION = 11 — PERFORMANCE TURF <br /> The work specified in this item shall conform to Section 570 of the Florida Department of <br /> Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (2010 ) . <br /> A . Description : Sod for the project shall be of the variety that is common to the area <br /> and of a variety approved by the Engineer. This work shall also include mowing in <br /> accordance with Section 104- 7 . 2 , to be mowed at 6 " height with a mulching mower. <br /> Be Work Included : Scope of Work : The work specified in this section consists of the <br /> establishing of a stand of grass , within the project , right-of-way, easements , and other <br /> areas indicated on the Drawings , by furnishing and placing grass sod .
