Addendum #1 11 -06-2013 by the addition of the following : Any stratum or stockpile or soil which contains obvious pockets of highly organic material may be designated as muck or unsuitable for construction of subgrade by the Owner. Backfill material containing more than 2 . 0 % by weight of organic material , as determined by FM 1 -T 267 and by averaging the test results for three randomly selected samples from each stratum or stockpile of a particular material , shall not be used in construction of the reinforced volume . If an individual test value of the three samples exceeds 3 . 0 % , the stratum or stockpile will not be suitable for construction of the reinforced volume . No A-8 material permitted in embankment . Contractor to remove existing grassing at beginning of outfield of the " Little League Field " to eliminate the berm and minimize the dip . 4" of clay shall be installed and graded to minimize the dip . This work will provide a temporary extension to the infield . This work shall be immediately following the notice to proceed , and will be considered Phase I of the project . Warning track material shall be the same as infield material with some slightly larger particles to provide "crunch factor" , increased percolation and detectable surface that can be felt under foot to warn player of the fence ahead . Material must be prem approved by Indian River County prior to installation . Installation of infield clay shall include the cost of relocation of the existing Base Traps . E . Payment shall be made under: Bid Item No . 6 — Embankment Spreading & Laser Grading of In- Place Fill Material — Per Lump Sum Bid Item No . 7 — 3 " Special Fill Mix to Achieve Minimum Permeability Rate of 12 '/Day ( In Place Quantity) — Per Cubic Yard Bid Item No . 8 — Remove existing grass and install minimum 4" thick clay at the beginning of outfield at Little League Field ( estimated 32 cy of clay) — Per Lump Sum Bid Item No . 9 — Infield Clay 3" — 6" Thick (as needed )(Truck Measured ) — Per Cubic Yard Bid Item No . 10 — Warning Track (Truck Measured ) — Per Cubic Yard SECTION = 11 — PERFORMANCE TURF The work specified in this item shall conform to Section 570 of the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (2010 ) . A . Description : Sod for the project shall be of the variety that is common to the area and of a variety approved by the Engineer. This work shall also include mowing in accordance with Section 104- 7 . 2 , to be mowed at 6 " height with a mulching mower. Be Work Included : Scope of Work : The work specified in this section consists of the establishing of a stand of grass , within the project , right-of-way, easements , and other areas indicated on the Drawings , by furnishing and placing grass sod .
