Sector 3 Beach & Dune Restoration Project Attachment I to Chante Order No . I <br /> Item 10 : 'Technical Specifications — Section 10 . 1 General <br /> Section 1. 0 . 1 is amended as follows : <br /> 1. 0 . 1 General. All costs associated with compliance with the permits for the Work, <br /> fulfillment of the provisions set forth in Attachment 1 (Environmental Protection) <br /> and associated provisions in these Specifications shall be included in the <br /> CONTRACTOR ' s bid line item for "Environmental Compliance " . The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall be bound and obligated to maintain the quality of the <br /> State ' s waters as stipulated in Project permits and in the Florida Administrative <br /> Code Rule 62 - 302 as they pertain to the classification of the waters of this work . <br /> The CONTRACTOR will be required to make inspections , measurements and <br /> observations required by those regulations and the Florida. Department of <br /> Environmental Protection (FDEP) permit in the vicinity of the Project area. This <br /> includes , but is not limited to , twice daily turbidity sampling with reports to the <br /> ENGINEER, following procedures stated below and identified in the FDEP <br /> Permit . <br /> Item I I Technical Specifications — Section 10 . 3 Payment <br /> Section 1. 0 .3 is amended as follows : <br /> 10 .3 Payment. All costs for monitoring and reporting turbidity shall be included in <br /> the contract lump sum price for Bid-Item 4 " Environmental Compliance " . <br /> Item 12 : Technical Specifications — Section 10 . 5 Sampling Frequency and Location <br /> Section 10 . 5 is amended as follows : <br /> 10 . 5 Sampling Frequency and Location . Turbidity samples shall be taken as <br /> indicated below : <br /> (A) Beach Fill Site (s) . <br /> ( 1 ) Frequency : Every four hours during beach fill placement . <br /> (2) Background Reading : At least 150 meters , but no more than 1000 <br /> meters , upcurrent from the fill placement location , outside of any <br /> visible turbidity plume , at mid -depth. <br /> (3 ) Compliance Reading : No more than 150 meters downcurrent of the <br /> fill placement location within the densest portion of any visible <br /> turbidity plume , at mid - depth . <br /> (4) Intermediate Reading : Samples shall be collected at mid - depth , in <br /> the densest portion of any visible turbidity plume generated by this <br /> Project, at the following locations : (i) as near as practical and safe <br /> to the zone of discharge , (ii ) at -2150 meters , (iii) at 2500 meters , <br /> and (iv) for " eemplian at 50730 meters . Intermediate sample <br /> locations may be modified during construction with the <br /> concurrence of FDEP . <br /> Page 5 of 26 <br /> March 16, 2010 <br />
