lip <br /> ell <br /> lez <br /> ii, ell 11 <br /> ell <br /> ell el I I <br /> Id lie 7 <br /> SECTION 0 10 14 <br /> SPECIAL WORK SEQUENCES <br /> PART 1 — GENERAL <br /> 1 . 01 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> A . The purpose of this section is to summarize construction scheduling, labor, material , <br /> equipment, and facility operation constraints and requirements which the Contractor shall <br /> take into consideration when planning and scheduling work under this Contract. Work <br /> will be performed at various locations for the North WTP Raw Water Transmission <br /> System . <br /> B . This Work shall be performed in such a manner as to minimize the disruption to the <br /> operation and staff of the existing water treatment plant . Modifications that affect or may <br /> affect the operation of the treatment facilities shall not be made without first obtaining <br /> written permission from the OWNER . Disruptions include, but are not limited to : <br /> 1 . Removing a process unit from service or impeding the operation of a process <br /> unit. <br /> 2 . Removing from service , restricting, or impeding the function of any utility <br /> (water, electricity , compressed air, drains , sanitary sewer, storm drain , telephone, <br /> instrumentation) serving any portion of a process unit, Operations Building, <br /> maintenance room and electrical control room . <br /> 3 . Removing from service , restricting, or impeding the function of any treatment <br /> chemical storage, metering, conveyance, or application system . <br /> 4 . Delaying or denying access to any plant structure or area needed by the IRC <br /> operations personnel to complete their work assignments . <br /> C . Extra precautions are necessary to ensure that no damage occurs to these facilities <br /> including piping, utilities , roads, interiors of structures , and structures in general that are <br /> to remain in operation and are not to be modified or replaced. Any temporary facilities , <br /> materials , equipment, and labor required to ensure that no damage occurs shall be <br /> provided by the Contractor as part of the Work and at no additional cost to the OWNER. <br /> D . All interruptions, outages , interferences, or temporary shutdowns of plant facilities and <br /> operations shall be identified and outlined before work is to be done . Requested times <br /> and dates for these interruptions , outages , interferences, or temporary shutdowns shall be <br /> scheduled on the construction progress schedule under Section 01311 . A schedule of all <br /> planned interruptions , outages , interferences , or temporary shutdowns of the plant <br /> facilities and operations shall be submitted every month in accordance with Section <br /> 01311 . This schedule shall include a minimum 2 - month planning horizon . <br /> 1 . 02 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> A . The water treatment plant must provide continuous treatment capacity during the <br /> construction period and meet its permit requirements under all operating conditions . <br /> B . In general , no work which affects or could affect plant operations or plant performance <br /> shall be performed without a specific detailed plan by the Contractor approved in <br /> advance by the Engineer and the Owner .
