ORDINANCE 16 - 60 <br />A. To prepare and recommend principles and <br />policies for guiding the development of the Indian <br />River County Public Library System, <br />B. To develop specific five-, ten-, and <br />twenty-year goals regarding funding, personnel, <br />materials, <br />and <br />facilities <br />required <br />by the <br />Indian <br />River County Public Library System, <br />C. To revise such goals each year to avoid <br />stagnation and to maintain realistic goals. <br />D. To develop specific recommendations to <br />achieve the five-, ten- and twenty-year goals, <br />which recommendations should include, but not be <br />limited to, the following concerns: funding sources; <br />sites for necessary facilities; acquisition of <br />collections, materials, or equipment; matters <br />pertaining to personnel and staffing; and matters <br />pertaining to structure and.operation of the County <br />Department of Public Libraries. <br />E. To act as a liaison between any "friends <br />of libraries" or similar organizations and the <br />Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, <br />F. To keep abreast of and advise the Board of <br />County Commissioners of any funding available from <br />state or federal sources and any relevant changes in <br />state or federal law. <br />G. To conduct such public hearings or workshops <br />as may be deemed necessary by the Advisory Board or <br />by the Board of County Commissioners. <br />H. To act in an advisory capacity to the Board <br />of County Commissioners, the County Administrator, <br />and the Library Services Coordinator on matters <br />concerning the Public Library System. <br />3 <br />
