/�„ <br />5/ 18/ 99(ord \alarm) Ow <br />ORDINANCE 99 -.L5 <br />WHEREAS, up to 99 percent of alarm signals are false alarm signals; and <br />WHEREAS, responding to these false alarms is a waste of manpower; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 99- <br />10 to regulate false alarms with an effective date of June 1, 1999; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has received many inquiries <br />concerning the operation of the ordinance and it appears that additional time is <br />necessary to get further public in put, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that: <br />SECTION 1. EMERGENCY. <br />The information set forth in the "Whereas" clauses is adopted and incorporated <br />herein and the imminent effective date of June 1, 1999 constitutes an emergency. <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. <br />The effective date for Ordinance No. 99-10 is hereby amended to October 1, <br />1999. <br />SECTION 3, SEVERABILITY. <br />If any section, or any sentence, paragraph, phrase, or word of this ordinance is <br />for any reason held to be unconstitutional, inoperative, or void, such holding shall not <br />affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and it shall be construed to have been <br />the legislative intent to pass the ordinance without such unconstitutional, invalid or <br />inoperative part. <br />
