<br />This section is primarily responsible for all activities relating to
<br />rabies detection and control, biting incidents, and quarantine of

<br />(C) The animal control authority is hereby authorized to:
<br />(1) receive, capture, pick up, and impound any dog or cat not properly
<br />restrained, vaccinated, or licensed as required by this chapter, or any
<br />ferret not vaccinated as required by this chapter;
<br />(2) receive, capture, pick up, and impound any domestic animal or
<br />livestock: running at large, straying, or otherwise not under
<br />restraint;
<br />3ieensed— as required bythis ehapter,or believed to be a stray; or
<br />believed to have rabies or other infectious or contagious disease; and
<br />(3) to take all steps necessary and lawful to initiate and prosecute
<br />violations of this chapter.
