FRANK RUZICKS. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER DISCUSSED ESTABLISHING A NEW FIVE COUNTY <br />REGIONAL HEALTH DISTRICT TO INCLUDE INDIAN RIVER ' Sr, LUCIE, MARTIN <br />OKEECHOBEE AND PALM BEACH COUNTIES . <br />THE FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL IS ALSO CONSIDERING SETTING <br />UP A NEW PLANNING DISTRICT WHICH WOULD ALSO INCLUDE INDIAN RIVER, ST. <br />LUCIE, MARTIN, OKEECHOBEE AND PALM BEACH COUNTIES. <br />CHAIRMAN LOY STATED THAT THIS PROPOSED NEW DISTRICT WOULD BE <br />IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THIS COUNTY AND SHE WOULD BE IN FAVOR OF IT. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT HE WOULD BE IN FAVOR OF THIS <br />NEW DISTRICT AS THIS COUNTY HAS MORE IN COMMON WITH THE COUNTIES TO THE <br />SOUTH. <br />THE BOARD RECESSED AT 2:00 O'CLOCK P.M. AND RECONVENED AT 3:35. <br />O'CLOCK P.M. <br />ATTORNEY BURCH LEFT THE MEETING AND GEORGE C. COLLINS, JR. <br />ATTORNEY SAT IN FOR HIM. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT REPORTED THAT HE HAS ATTENDED SEVERAL <br />MEETINGS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF ALL THE VARIOUS WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICTS <br />AND SEVERAL LOCAL ENGINEERS TO DISCUSS THE CHANGING OF THE BOUNDARIES <br />OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT AND THE UPPER <br />ST. JOHN'S WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT.INDIAN RIVER COUNTY IS PRESENTLY IN THE <br />CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT AND WITH THIS REDISTRICT- <br />ING PROPOSED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY WILL BE PLACED <br />IN THE UPPER ST. JOHN'S WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT. <br />THE BOARD ADOPTED RESOLUTION No. 74-65 REQUESTING TO REMAIN <br />IN'THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT INSTEAD OF BEING <br />TRANSFERRED, UNTIL THERE WAS SOME INDICATION THAT THE UPPER ST. JOHN'S <br />WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT WOULD BE FUNDED TO HANDLE OUR NEEDS. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT JACK MALLOY WITH THE CENTRAL <br />AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT REQUESTED A WORKSHOP BE SCHEDULEI <br />IN ORDER TO DISCUSS THEIR PROPOSED PROJECTS. <br />THE BOARD AGREED TO SCHEDULE A WORKSHOP ON WEDNESDAY, £IAY 14, 197E <br />AT 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
