CITY OF VERO BEACH'S DECISION, AND RECOGNIZING THAT THERE ARE HAZARDOUS <br />OBSTACLES ALONG THE COASTLINE FROM THE NORTH COUNTY LINE TO THE SOUTH <br />COUNTY LINE AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY COOPERATION THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />THE ARMY CAN OFFER, AND ALSO AUTHORIZED A COPY OF THIS LETTER TO BE SENT <br />TO THE U.S. REPRESENTATIVE L. A. "SKIP" BAFALIS. <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A REQUEST FROM <br />DOROTHY MANSFIELD GUILD TO PURCHASE LOT 11, BLOCK 9 OF VERO BEACH ESTATES. <br />THIS PROPERTY IS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF VERO BEACH, WE CON— <br />TINUED THAT SOME TIME AGO LOTS IN THIS SUBDIVISION WERE FORECLOSED ON AND <br />THE COUNTY TOOK OVER TITLE ON SOME OF THESE LOTS, THERE IS A REVERTER <br />CLAUSE IN THE DEED WHICH STATES THAT THE CITY IS TO USE THIS PROPERTY <br />TO PUT IN EAGLE TRAIL, IF EAGLE TRAIL IS NOT PUT IN BY THE CITY, THIS <br />PROPERTY WOULD REVERT BACK TO THE COUNTY, EAGLE TRAIL HAS NEVER BEEN <br />BUILT AS AROAD, AND AT THE END OF THIS LOT 11, THERE IS A DEAD END, <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR ASKED IF THE BOARD WOULD BE AGREEABLE <br />TO CONTACTING MR. JOHN LITTLE, CITY MANAGER, AND GET THE CITY'S FEELINGS, <br />IF THEY WILL ABANDON ONE LOT, IT WOULD REVERT BACK TO THE COUNTY, AND THE <br />COUNTY WOULD THEN HAVE THE OPTION OF PUTTING IT UP FOR BIDS, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT IF THE CITY DOES AGREE THAT <br />EAGLE TRAIL WILL NOT BE BUILT AND THIS PROPERTY REVERTS BACK TO THE COUNTY, <br />IT CAN BE PUT UP FOR BIDS AT THE MARKET VALUE. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY INSTRUCTED THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO CON— <br />TACT JOHN LITTLE, CITY MANAGER, TO DISCUSS THIS SITUATION, <br />CHAIRMAN LOY STATED THAT AT THE MEETING OF JUNE 4, 1975, THE <br />BOARD DISCUSSED THE NEW STATE GUIDELINES ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND ALSO <br />DISCUSSED GUIDELINES FOR OUR CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR REGARDING THE SERVICES <br />HE PERFORMS FOR THIS COUNTY AND THE AMOUNT OF MONEY PAID HIM FOR DOING <br />THIS JOB, WE HAVE ASKED STATE OFFICIALS TO APPEAR TODAY IN ORDER TO MAKE <br />DEFINITE POLICY DECISIONS ON HOW OUR CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR WILL OPERATE <br />THIS YEAR. <br />EDWARD JACKSON, CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR,.INTRODUCED JAMES LAWSON, <br />CENTRAL AREA COORDINATOR, DIVISION OF DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND JAMES <br />DALZELL, STATE DIVISION OF DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, <br />7 <br />JUN i 81975 <br />PACE 74 <br />
