The 17th Street right of way passes between the City of Vero Beach <br />Municipal Power Plant and the City Wastewater Treatment Plant. Along the <br />wrest side of these two plant sites the Florida Department of Transportation <br />has under contract for construction a new north -south four -lane road, Indian <br />River Boulevard. Indian River Boulevard, which intersects with 17th Street <br />is being built under State Road Job No. 88506-3602-02. <br />The proposed contract includes all work required to adjust the City of <br />i <br />Vero Beach Municipal Utilities electric transmission and distribution plant, <br />both overhead and underground, located along or adjoining 17th Street and <br />Causeway Boulevard, to the new road right of way, sidewalk, curb and paving <br />configurations. The work is necessary because the existing poles or other <br />facilities either will be in the widened street, or will not meet Federal <br />and State guidelines for safe location with respect to new curb lines. <br />The proposed contract includes the replacement of existing streetlight- <br />Ing, 4,160 volt distribution and 13,200 volt distribution wood pole struc- <br />tures, generally using concrete poles. The Causeway Boulevard part of the <br />work involves the underbuilding of the 13,200 volt primary and secondary <br />distribution lines on existing 69,000 volt concrete transmission structures <br />and the removal of the existing system. The•relocation of several 13,200 <br />volt riser structures at the power plant site will involve some underground <br />duct•and cable work. Also included is the removal and replacement of several ; <br />69,000 volt steel transmission structures on 17th Street, some with under - <br />built 13,200 volt distribution, using new concrete poles. <br />The work covered by the proposed contract is divided into four (4) <br />items, each defined according to the following paragraphs: <br />I <br />3 <br />l4r: <br />DEC 1976✓ ek 27a,:t.353 <br />
