LMj
ITEM I - 17TH .STREET OVERHRA.0 1AANar11z)aiv v
Two existing 69,000 volt transmission lines originate at the Power Plant
Substation. One line, No. 69-0110, runs south across 17th Street along Indian
River Boulevard a short distance and turns east. The other line, No. 69-0108,
comes out of the substation and runs southbound more or less parallel to the
first, but turns west on 17th Street at the Indian River Boulevard intersectio".
Both lines have 3 No. 8 AWG Alumoweld static wires and the three conductors of
each line are 394.5 MCM, 19 strand No. 6201 Aluminum Alloy (AAAC) and 559.5 MC14,
19 strand AAAC respectively.
The two steel pole structures for these lines, located at the southeast
corner of 17th Street and Indian River Boulevard, must be removed. These
poles are set in concrete. One is a guyed tangent structure with horizontal
post insulators and the other is a vertical dead end corner. They will be
replaced with similar concrete pole structures on 90 foot high poles located
about ten feet south of the existing structures. The existing static wires
and conductors will be transferred, spliced out where required, and re -sagged.
The 69-0108 circuit, which continues west on the south side of 17th Street,
is under underbuilt with the South Beach 13,200 volt distribution feeder No.
13-0105. The lines turn south at the 6th Avenue intersection on a steel pole
vertical corner structure, which must be removed. The corner will be made
using flying taps on both the transmission and distribution conductors. This
will be accomplished by installing across the intersection in each direction
new concrete one way dead end structures using 85 foot high poles. The static
and transmission conductors and distribution neutrals will remain vertical,
but the three underbuilt distribution conductors will be installed flat by
dead ending on steel crossarms. New conductors will be_spliced to the exist-
in& conductors to reach the new dead end structures. Two existing wood guy
poles, which are set in concrete, must be removed.
DEC iso
b
2 - : 354
