ITEM II - 17TH STREET OVERHEAD DISTRIBUTION
This item includes all work associated with the adjustment of the over-
head distribution system located at the 17th Street and US -1 intersection and
along or adjoining 17th Street from US -1 east to the Indian River, with the
exception of distribution work associated with the relocation of transmission
structures under Item I above.
There is an existing 13,200 volt double circuit wood pole and crossarm
type line with a static wire and one neutral conductor located on the north
side of 17th Street. These circuits are known as the West Feeder, circuit
No. 13-0101 and the South Plant Tie Line, circuit No. 13-0107 and originate
at riser poles located in front of the Power -Plant. The static wire is 3
No. 8 Alumoweld and the circuit 13-0101 conductors, on the top crossarm, are
336 MCH, 18/1 aluminum conductor, steel reinforced (ASCR). The 13-0107 con-
ductors are 394.5 MCM, 19 strand AAAC. The neutral is 3/0 AWG, 6/1 ACSR.
The work on these circuits consists of the replacement of several wood
pole structures at the US -1 intersection with concrete pole structures using
horizontal post insulators and the transfer of the existing conductors and
other facilities to the new structures. Some work is required on a 4,160 volt
line located on US -1 at 17th St. At the 6th Avenue intersection with.17th
Street one double circuit structure will be replaced with a similar wood
structure. At the power plant end of the double circuit line, one new con-
crete structure and new concrete riser poles with steel crossarms will be
installed, the existing wood structures removed and the conductoro transferred
or spliced out as required.
A third three-phase, 13,200 volt circuit, the South Beach Feeder, Circuit
No. 13-0105 will require replacement of an existing wood riser structure near
the power plant with a new concrete structure and the splicing out of existing
394.5 MCM, 19 strand AAAC conductors and a 4/0 AWG, 19 strand AAAC neutral.
p
0
355
DEC
11976,-
