LAST THREE YEARS, POST, BUCKLEY, SCHUH & .JERNIGAN, INC., HAS BEEN <br />INVOLVED IN OVER 120 ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, AND <br />IN THE LAST 30 MONTHS HAS COMPLETED EIGHT COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE <br />MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS, COMPLETED ZO SANITARY LANDFILL DESIGN PROJECTS, <br />COMPLETED THE APPLICATION FOR AND OBTAINED TEMPORARY OPERATING PERMITS <br />FOR FIVE LANDFILL OPERATIONS AND HAS SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR <br />'CLIENTS AND OBTAINED A TOTAL OF EIGHT OPERATING AND CONSTRUCTION PERMITS <br />ALL IN FLORIDA SOLVING FLORIDA PROBLEMS. HE MENTIONED WORK DONE FOR MONROE <br />COUNTY, HENDRY COUNTY, LEE COUNTY, LEON COUNTY, BELLE GLADE, POMPANO <br />BEACH, AND NORTH MIAMI, AMONG OTHERS. <br />MR. SEARCY THEN WENT ON TO DISCUSS THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE <br />PROJECT TEAM MEMBERS SELECTED FOR THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT AND <br />INTRODUCED RICHARD OLNEY WHO WOULD BE PROJECT MANAGER. <br />MR. OLNEY NOTED THAT THERE ARE TWO REQUIREMENTS THAT NEED TO BE <br />ADDRESSED - THE SOLUTION OF THE SANITARY LANDFILL PROBLEM AT THE AIRPORT <br />SITE AND THE PREPARATION OF THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AS <br />REQUIRED UNDER CHAPTER 17-7. HE DISI�IJSSED THE FACT THAT THE LANDFILL <br />WILL SOON REACH CA^ACITY AND IS ALREADY IN VIOLI,TION RE FLIGHT CLEARANCES <br />AS REQUIRED BY FAA, AND NOTED THAT IF THE SITE HAS BEEN SELECTED,. <br />THEY HAVE THE EXPERTISE TO MAKE REPORTS TO GET PERMITS, AND IF IT HAS NOT, <br />THEY CAN ASSIST IN THE SITE SELECTION WITH HYDROLOGICAL REPORTS, ETC. <br />MR, SEARCY INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THEY WOULD COMMIT A TOP <br />PRIORITY TO THIS PROJECT, HE ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY QUESTIONS. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED WHETHER THEY ARE PRESENTLY EMPLOYED BY <br />ANY COUNTY IN FLORIDA TO CONDUCT THE STUDY REQUIRED UNDER CHAPTER 17-7. <br />MR. SEARCY STATED.THAT THEY ARE DOING A SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT <br />PLAN FOR LEE COUNTY AND ARE DOING THE SAME SORT OF THING IN HENDRY COUNTY, <br />WHERE THEY ALSO HAD A LANDFILL IN VIOLATION OF FAA REQUIREMENTS. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED, BASED ON THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY, WHAT KIND OF TIMETABLE THEY WOULD ESTIMATE TO HANDLE THIS <br />STUDY. <br />MR. OLNEY ESTIMATED GO TO 90 DAYS FOR A SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT <br />PLAN AS HE FELT A LOT OF THE INFORMATION COMPILED FOR THE LANDFILL SITE <br />COULD BE UTILITZED IN THIS STUDY. <br />COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED IF MR.
