IF
ON MOTION MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT,SECONDED BY COMMIS-
SIONER Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY REOPENED THE'PUBLIC HEARING to ASK.
THE BAR OWNERS THEIR OPINION OF CHAIRMAN WODTKEIS SUGGESTION.
CHAIRMAN WODTKE ASKED ATTORNEY BLOCK TO RESPOND FOR THE RETAIL
LIQUOR ASSOCIATION..
ATTORNEY BLOCK SAID HE FELT THIS IS AN UNFAIR REQUEST AS' -THERE
ARE ONLY ONE OR TWO OWNERS PRESENT AND IN ORDER TO ANSWER THE QUESTION,
HE WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT ALL THE OWNERS. HE POINTED OUT THAT THE BAR
OWNERS FELT THEY WERE HONESTLY ASKING FOR WHAT THEY REALLY NEED AND THAT
IT IS A REALISTIC REQUEST. OTHER THAN THAT, HE STATED HE COULD NOT
ANSWER THE CHAIRMAN'S QUESTION.
ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER DEESON, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER toy,
THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING.
REV. DICK STEVENS ASKED IF ANYTHING IS CONSIDERED OTHER THAN
WHAT WAS ADVERTISED, ISN IT IT NECESSARY TO HAVE A WHOLE NEW PUBLIC HEARING:
ATTORNEY COLLINS ANSWERED THAT EVERYTHING THE BOARD HAS CON-
SIDERED IS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ADVERTISEMENT.
JOHN DEAN REQUESTED TO BE ALLOWED TO SPEAK AND NOTED THAT ON
THE WEEKENDS THE EXTRA HOUR COULD MEAN POSSIBLY $100.00 A NIGHT, WHICH
HE FIGURED WOULD ADD UP TO AROUND $15,000 A YEAR, HE FELT THIS IS A
VALID ALTERNATIVE AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS SUCH.
COMMISSIONER LOY NOTED THAT IF THE COUNTY EXTENDS THE HOURS
AND THE CITY DOES NOT CONCUR, THE COUNTY WILL BE IN A POSITION OF WANTING
TO GO BACK. SHE FELT IT HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED THAT THE VOTES ARE HERE
IF THE CITY WISHES TO MAKE A.CHANGE, BUT FELT IF WE TAKE POSITIVE ACTION,
IT WILL EXERT UNDUE PRESSURE,
COMMISSIONER SIEBERT DID NOT FEEL THERE WOULD BE ANY LESS
PRESSURE WHETHER WE TOOK ACTION OR NOT.
MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE
EXTENDING THE HOURS FOR DISPENSING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ONE HOUR.
MOTION DIED FOR LACK OF A SECOND,
MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMIS-
SIONER SIEBERT TO EXTEND THE HOURS FOR DISPENSING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
s
IV
UOI T2 PmE 452
A
