<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board
<br />of County Commissioners of Indian River
<br />County, Florida will hold a public hearing on
<br />January 18, 1978, at 11:00 o'clock a.m. in the
<br />County Commission Room, Indian River
<br />County Courthouse for the purpose of adopting
<br />A Landscape Ordinance which Ordinance
<br />shall provide definitions, require a landscape
<br />plan, require use of suitable plant materials,
<br />which conform to the standards of Part One
<br />which conform to grade and standards for
<br />nursery plants, Part One, 1973 and Part Two,
<br />1975, State of Florida, Department of
<br />Agriculture, provide for standards in trees,
<br />hedges, scrubs, vines, ground covers and
<br />grass, require landscaping adjacent to public
<br />rights-of-way, require perimeter landscaping,
<br />require interior coverage, provide for main-
<br />tenance, certificate of occupancy, a severance
<br />clause and providing DF r an COUNTY N T Y effective date.

<br />ROBERT BERG, ASSISTANT COUNTY PLANNER, MADE THE PRESENTATION.
<br />-HE NOTED THAT THIS ORDINANCE IS THE RESULT OF SEVERAL MEETINGS WITH
<br />THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION PLUS COOPERATION FROM THE URBAN
<br />FORESTER. IT BASICALLY APPLIES TO OFFSTREET PARKING AND WILL REQUIRE
<br />LANDSCAPING THROUGHOUT THE AREA. MR. BERG STATED HE FEELS THIS IS A
<br />GOOD AND COMPREHENSIVE ORDINANCE VERY SIMILAR TO THE ONE ADOPTED BY
<br />THE CITY OF VERO BEACH AND READ TO THE BOARD ITS OBJECTIVES AS SET
<br />OUT IN SECTION 1.
<br />ATTORNEY COLLINS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE HAS JUST RECENTLY
<br />HAD A CHANCE TO REVIEW THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE AND THERE ARE LEGAL
<br />MODIFICATIONS HE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE. HE STATED THAT THE HEARING CAN
