I
t
DISCUSSION FOLLOWED AS TO WHETHER A RETIRED PROFESSIONAL
COULD BE APPOINTED, AND IT WAS FELT.THAT WOULD BE FINE.
CHAIRMAN WODTKE RETURNED DISCUSSION TO THE CONSIDERATION
OF TENTATIVE APPROVAL OF GLEN ACRES, UNIT II, WHICH THE BOARD
DECIDED THIS MORNING TO REFER BACK TO THE SUBDIVISION REVIEW
COMMITTEE.
MARVIN CARTER INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE EXISTING CULVERTS
ARE 18' CULVERTS WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN INDICATED ON THE PLAT.
ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS FELT THAT APPARENTLY THERE WAS A
BREAKDOWN BETWEEN THE MINUTES OF THE SITE FLAN REVIEW COMMITTEE AND
MR. CARTER'S UNDERSTANDING OF THE SITUATION. HE NOTED THAT IT IS THE
DEVELOPER'S INTENT TO PUT THIS IN AS A PUBLIC ROAD; THERE IS AN
EXISTING DITCHS AND THEY DO NOT WISH TO PUT IN A PLANTING STRIP.
MR. CARTER STATED THAT THE DITCH NEEDS TO BE REWORKED
AND IS NOT IN A CONDITION THAT THE COUNTY SHOULD ACCEPT. HE NOTED
THERE IS NO RECORDED SUBDIVISION NEXT TO GLEN ACRES, UNIT II, ONLY
METES AND BOUNDS PARCELS AND HE WOULD HATE TO SEE A "NUISANCE"
STRIP PUT IN BETWEEN A PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AND ANOTHER PIECE OF
PROPERTY.
ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS NOTED THAT SINCE THE DRAINAGE
FACILITIES THERE NOW ARE GOING TO BE REWORKED, HIS ORIGINAL
QUESTION AS TO WHETHER THE DRAINAGE FACILITIES WOULD BE SUFFICIENT
HAS BEEN SATISFACTORILY ANSWERED. HE CONTINUED THAT MR. CARTER
HAS INFORMED HIM THAT THEY INTEND TO BUILD A PUBLIC ROAD TO
COUNTY SPECIFICATIONS AND THAT THE DRAINAGE WILL BE SUFFICIENT TO
TAKE CARE OF THIS AREA IF THE DITCH, WHICH FALLS PART ON THIS
PROPERTY AND PART ON OTHER PROPERTY, SHOULD -BE CLOSED. WITH THIS
UNDERSTANDING, THE ADMINISTRATOR, STATED THAT HE WOULD BE WILLING
TO SUGGEST THAT THE BOARD*CONSIDER GIVING TENTATIVE APPROVAL TO
GLEN ACRES, UNIT II.
COMMISSIONER. LOY NOTED THAT THE ADJACENT PROPERTY IS NOT
SUBDIVIDED AND THE ROADS DO NOT GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
DISCUSSION AROSE AS TO WHETHER THE BOARD.IS REQUIRED TO
ACCEPT A DEDICATED ROAD, AND ATTORNEY COLLINS FELT THE COMMISSION
32
8001E 34 PACE 473
F9
