COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER QUESTIONED THE FEASIBILITY OF FILLING <br />THE LAND TO MAKE IT USABLE, <br />AUTRY THOMAS AGAIN DISCUSSED THE CONDITION OF THE PROPERTY <br />AND THE DIFFICULTY OF FILLING IT TO MAKE IT USABLE, <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED RESIDENCES ALREADY LOCATED IN THIS <br />AREA. <br />COMMISSIONER DEESON INQUIRED ABOUT ANY REGULATIONS GOVERNING <br />ELEVATION OF LAND, AND MR. BERG AGREED THAT LAND ELEVATION MUST BE <br />TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. HE STATED THAT THE PLANNING STAFF TOOK <br />INTO CONSIDERATION THE DIFFERENT LIFE STYLE IN THIS AREA AND TRIED <br />TO COME UP WITH A HOMOGENOUS USE, WHICH THEY FEEL WOULD BE R-lE. <br />AUTRY THOMAS STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS AREA <br />LIMITED TO ONE HOUSE PER FIVE ACRES AND WAS CONCERNED THAT IF THIS <br />PROPERTY WERE REZONED, OTHERS MIGHT ALSO DECIDE TO REZONE TO R-lE AND <br />DEVELOP, <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER ASKED IF THE BOARD CAN QUESTION WHETHER <br />IT IS FEASIBLE TO DEVELOP THIS LAND. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS FELT THAT SHOULD BE A CONSIDERATION, BUT <br />POINTED OUT THAT REZONING IS JUST A FIRST STEP AND THEN THE <br />DEVELOPER HAS TO MEET SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS, WHICH HE FELT IS <br />THE DEVELOPER'S PROBLEM. <br />MR, LUKE STATED THAT FILL WAS HAULED OUT OF THIS PROPERTY <br />RECENTLY AND POSSIBLY SOLD TO DR. FISCHER. <br />MR. WILMOTH STATED THAT NO FILL HAD BEEN SOLD OR MOVED <br />OUT OF THIS PROPERTY; THAT HE DID MOVE SOME FILL AROUND ON THE <br />PROPERTY, BUT DID NOT ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TO DO SO. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SCHMUCKER, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT NOTED THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME <br />HE HAS HEARD PEOPLE SAY THAT THEY ARE CLOSING IN ON US WITH ACRE <br />AND A HALF LOTS, BUT STATED HE WAS CONCERNED THAT WE MIGHT END <br />UP WITH A PIECE OF PROPERTY IN R-lE THAT COULDN'T BE USED. <br />DISCUSSION CONTINUED AND COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER SUGGESTED <br />TABLING THE MATTER UNTIL MR, LUETHJE CAN DETERMINE WHETHER IT IS <br />49 <br />MAY 101978 Book 34 PAGE 403 <br />
