JOHN SCHLITT STATED THAT WHEN THEY DID THE STUDY FOR THE <br />HOSPITAL, THEY FOUND NO STRUCTURAL PROBLEM WITHIN THE BASIC•STRUCTURE, <br />BUT A LOT WOULD BE REQUIRED TO BE GUTTED OUT BECAUSE OF FIRE REGULATIONS, <br />ETC. HE FELT THE ROOF OF THE OBSTETRICS WING SHOULD BE REMOVED AS IT <br />WOULD NOT COMPLY WITH CURRENT CODES. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT ASKED IF THE FIRM HAS EVER HAD ANY <br />EXPERIENCE AT ALL WITH LEGAL SUITS FOR NON-PERFORMANCE OF DUTY, AND <br />MR. LITTLE STATED THATITHEY HAD NOT. <br />COMMIS810-NER Loy ASKED IF THEIR COMPANY HAS HAD ANY EXPERIENCE <br />WITH RENOVATING A HOSPITAL INTO ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES IN THE STATE OF <br />FLORIDA. <br />MR. LITTLE SAID THAT HE DOUBTED ANYONE HAS BECAUSE HE FELT <br />THIS COUNTY WILL BE THE FIRST TO ATTEMPT SUCH A REMODELING. HE NOTED <br />THAT THEY DO HAVE EXPERIENCE IN REMODELING AND UPDATING HOSPITALS. <br />COMMISSIONER DEESON NOTED THEIR STUDY WAS BASED ON A 25 TO 30 <br />YEAR PERIOD AND ASKED WHETHER THEY ANTICIPATED THAT THE FACILITY WOULD <br />CARRY THE COUNTY ANY FURTHER THAN 25 YEARS. <br />MR. LITTLE COULD NOT STATE FOR CERTAIN ABOUT THE PHYSICAL <br />STRUCTURE, BUT FELT THE LAND CERTAINLY WOULD. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE THANKED THE GENTLEMEN FOR THEIR PRESENTATION. <br />REPRESENTATIVES OF THE FIRM OF STOTTLER,.STAGG & ASSOCIATES <br />CAME BEFORE THE BOARD AT 1:45 O'CLOCK P.M. APPEARING WERE CADEN WOODS, <br />CHIEF ARCHITECT, EDWIN SMITH, ROY COWLS, AND LOCAL ENGINEER, .JAMES <br />YOUNG. THEIR PRESENTATION WAS MADE BY MEANS OF A VIDEO TAPE WITH A <br />SOUND TRACK, SHOWING THEIR VISIT TO THE HOSPITAL, VARIOUS THINGS THEY <br />OBSERVED, AND PLANS OF HOW THEY WOULD PROCEED. <br />MR. COWLE STATED THAT THEY.ARE A FLORIDA BASED FIRM, EMPLOY- <br />ING -OVER 150 PERSONNEL, WITH THEIR CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS IN CAPE <br />CANAVERAL. HE STATED THAT THEY HAVE COMPLETE IN-HOUSE CAPABILITIES, <br />AND THEIR STAFF PROVIDES EXPERTISE IN ENERGY CONSERVATION, SOLAR <br />a UTILIZATION, ETC. MR. COWLE CONTINUED THAT THEY HAVE 20 YEARS' EXPERI- <br />ENCE WITH RENOVATION PROJECTS AND GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH COST CONTROL <br />MEASURES. HE ALSO INFORMED THE BOARD THAT'THEY HAVE NEVER HAD TO REBID <br />A PROJECT BECAUSE IT CAME IN OVER THE BUDGET. MR. COWLE NOTED THAT <br />4 <br />BooK 36 PAGE 480 <br />
