U <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 78-32 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 78-25 BY ADDING A <br />NEW SECTION, DESIGNATED SECTION 14, WHICH SECTION <br />SHALL REQUIRE A SURVEY, SIGNED -AND SEALED BY A PRO- <br />FESSIONAL SURVEYOR LICENSED IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, <br />TO ACCOMPANY BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS WHERE <br />CONSTRUCTION WILL OCCUR IN SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD <br />AREAS; ESTABLISH REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SURVEY, AND <br />ESTABLISH THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A CERTIFICATE OF <br />OCCUPANCY <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Indian River County Ordinance <br />78-25 is hereby amended by adding a new Section 14, which <br />Section shall read as follows: <br />Section 14. SURVEY TO BE ATTACHED TO BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION: <br />Within those unincorporated areas of Indian Ri r County designated <br />as special flood hazard areas by the flood maps, all building <br />permit applications for the construction or substantial improvement <br />of residential and nonresidential structures including pre- <br />fabricated and mobile homes shall be accompanied by a survey, <br />signed and sealed by a professional surveyor licensed in the State <br />of Florida, which specificially designates the elevation of the <br />graded or final building pad of the site and of the proposed first` <br />floor of construction of such new structure or substantial <br />improvement to existing structures. Such survey shall be attached <br />to the building permit and must be approved as meeting the. <br />requirements of this Article by the building official of Indian <br />River County prior to the issuance of a building permit. Before <br />a certificate of occupancy is issued for the structure, the <br />building official of Indian River County shall inspect the <br />premises to assure that the requirements of this Article have <br />been met. <br />THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE ON NOVEMBER 6, 1978. <br />`7 Aft <br />NOV 1 1978 <br />
