The following additional standards shall be met by any new town PD project application. <br />1. Affordable/Workforce Housing: Affordable and/or workforce housing units shall <br />be provided to ensure that there is housing available within the project area for <br />workers employed within the project area. Therefore, Aat least thirteen ten (10) <br />percent of the total housing units shall be affordable and/or workforce housing <br />units. A housing unit shall be considered affordable if it has a market value less <br />, as defined in the county's land development <br />regulations. -The applicant shall provide sufficient data and analysis to justify the <br />number and percentage of affordable housing units needed by his proposed <br />project. —This amount of affordable housing shall then be provided within the <br />project; however, the total amount of affordable housing shall in no case be less <br />than thirteen ten (1310) percent of the total number of housing units in the project. <br />2. Open Space: At least fifty (50) percent of the entire PD area shall be preserved or <br />provided as open space. Open space areas shall be retained as natural areas; or <br />used for agricultural agriculturepurposes,. or used for recreational--purposesi <br />stormwater management, water supply, or similar uses that complement the rural <br />nature of the area. <br />Future Land Use Element <br />147 <br />
