DEC 171980 Bou 45 PAVE <br />494 <br />CONSIDERABLE DISCUSSION CONTINUED IN REGARD TO OVERALL <br />DENSITIES, AND MR. CLARK POINTED OUT THAT THE BOARD MIGHT FIND AFTER <br />THE BARRIER ISLAND STUDY IS CONCLUDED THAT THE ISLAND CAN SUPPORT <br />MORE THAN 6 UNITS PER ACRE, AND IF THAT WERE S0, THEIR PROJECT, <br />HAVING BEEN COMPLETED, WOULD BE IMPINGED UPON. <br />COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK FELT THAT THE ISLAND WILL SUPPORT <br />WHATEVER WE CHOOSE WITH THE BENEFIT OF TECHNOLOGY, BUT NOTED THAT A <br />FUGURE OF 6 IS WHAT WOULD BE ACCEPTED IN THIS COMMUNITY. <br />MR. CLARK EMPHASIZED THAT THEY JUST ARE TRYING TO GET IN A <br />POSITION TO HAVE THEIR PLANS ON THE TABLE TO BE REVIEWED, AND HE <br />HOPED THAT THEIR PROPOSAL TO REZONE WOULD BE TAKEN AS AN INDICATION <br />OF THEIR INTENTIONS. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS, FOR THE RECORD, WISHED TO INDICATE THAT <br />THEY DID TRY TO GET MR. CLARK TO REZONE TO 6, BUT SO FAR HAVE MADE NO <br />PROGRESS, HE NOTED THAT ATTORNEY COLLINS HAS MADE THE POINT THAT THE <br />PLANNING DIRECTOR TURNED DOWN THE APPLICATION AND ACTUALLY THE <br />QUESTION CONFRONTING THE COMMISSION IS WHAT DO WE DO TO BACK UP THE <br />PLANNING DIRECTOR. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS DID NOT FEEL ANY FORMAL ACTION SHOULD COME <br />FROM THE COMMISSION. HE NOTED THAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS MEETING WAS <br />TO GET ALL PARTIES INVOLVED, AND THE PLANNING DIRECTOR STILL HAS THE <br />DECISION TO MAKE. HE FELT THAT WITH THE INPUT MR. REVER NOW HAS <br />RECEIVED, HE WOULD BE GUIDED ACCORDINGLY. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS NEXT ASKED MR. CLARK WHEN HE IS TALKING <br />ABOUT AN APPLICATION FOR REZONING WHETHER HE WAS TALKING ABOUT BEACH <br />COLONY AND IF SO, WHETHER HE HAS AUTHORITY FROM THE PRESENT OWNERS. <br />MR. CLARK CONFIRMED THAT HE WAS AND THAT THEY ARE ACTING <br />AS AN AGENT BOTH FOR THE PRESENT OWNERS AND FUTURE OWNERS. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS NOTED THAT THERE IS A PIECE OF PROPERTY IN <br />BETWEEN BEACH COLONY AND RIVER BEND, AND MR. CLARK STATED THAT THEY <br />DO NOT HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER THAT 15 ACRES. MR. CLARK STATED THAT <br />THERE ARE 84 ACRES IN RIVER BEND - 16 EAST OF AIA AND THE BALANCE ON <br />
