Please also <br />note, it is our intention to advise the Environmental Protection Agency <br />(EPA), of the County and Town's plans to construct this system and to <br />also request from EPA the construction cost for this system to be <br />considered cost reimbursable out of the 201 project fund, if and when <br />the funds become available from EPA. We will continue to advise you <br />on this matter on a continuing basis. <br />ITEM #4 - 201 FACILITIES PLAN <br />Status of the 201 Facilities Plan is as follows: <br />Engineer's Proj. No. 6383-C <br />--Please be advised, we have received a copy of the letter dated <br />December 9, 1980, from Mr. Richard Smith, Florida Department of Environ- <br />mental Regulation (Florida DER), to Mr. Stallings Howell, United States <br />Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA), which certifies Step 1 of <br />Indian River County's 201 to EPA. Please also be advised, we have <br />received copies of executed resolutions approving the 201 Plan from the <br />City of Fellsmere, City of Sebastian, City of Vero Beach and the Town of <br />Indian River Shores. These will be forwarded to DER as part of the <br />appendices of the 201 Plan. We have also been advised, the Town of <br />Orchid will be taking action on their proposed resolution in the very <br />near future. <br />--We will' be addressing questions posed by the City of Vero Beach relative <br />to Addendum No. 1 of the 201 Plan in the near future. These questions <br />are primarily associated with interpretation of data presented. We will <br />copy the County with this correspondence as soon as Florida DER receives <br />all remaining requested material. We will be scheduling a meeting with <br />EPA to discuss requirements specific to completing the Step 2 grant <br />application to EPA. It is our intention to invite representatives from <br />the County and other participating municipalities to the meeting with EPA. <br />ITEM #5 - THE LEGAL AGREEMENT REVIEW FOR <br />UTILITIES DEPARTMENT <br />Engineer's Proj. No. 6383-A <br />Status of the Legal Agreement Review for the Utilities Department is as <br />follows: <br />--No activity under this item at this time. <br />ITEM #6 - SOUTH BEACH WATER LINE EXTENSION <br />PRELIMINARY COST ESTIMATES <br />JAR:vs <br />Engineer's Proj. No. 6383-A <br />Status of the South Beach Water Line Extension Preliminary Cost Estimates <br />is as follows: <br />--We have received a copy of the WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM ANALYSIS for <br />the City of Vero Beach, Florida dated .December, 1980 and prepared by <br />Gee and Jenson. Furthermore, we are reviewing said report to determine <br />system design criteria and impacts applicable to the County for the <br />proposed water line extension. Also, we have put together 1-200 scale <br />aerial photographs of the project area which will be utilized for planning. <br />A separate team of engineers and technicians have been assigned to this <br />Project to insure an expedient completion of this design. For your infor- <br />mation, we are preparing a preliminary cost estimate and system design <br />for conceptual review and approval prior to beginning final design. <br />It is also our intention to review the conceptual design with the City <br />of Vero Beach and receive their approval prior to proceeding with final <br />design.
