Buildable Area - The area of a lot remaining after the minimum <br />yard, dedicated lands, wetlands, and open space requirements of the <br />county land development regulations have been met. <br />Building - An enclosed structure that is principally aboveground. <br />The term includes mobile homes and gas or liquid storage tanks. <br />Any structure designed or built for the support, enclosure, shelter <br />or protection of persons, animals, chattels or property of any <br />kind. <br />Building Facade - That portion of any exterior elevation of a <br />building extending from grade to the roof line and the entire width <br />of the building elevation, including window area. <br />Building Front - That area of the building which faces the public <br />or private road by which the building was numbered. <br />Building, Height of - The vertical distance to the highest point <br />of the roof for flat roofs; to the deck line of mansard roofs, to <br />themean height between the eaves and ridge for sloped roofs <br />measured from the average natural grade or the minimum flood <br />elevation, whichever is higher. The FDNR Design Breakaway Wave <br />Crest Elevation (DBWCE) shall constitute minimum flood elevation, <br />where applicable. <br />Building Official - The Director of the Building Division of the <br />Community Development Department and all inspectors working under <br />his/her authority and direction. <br />Building Permit - The document issued by the building division <br />authorizing the applicant to initiate construction activity in <br />accordance with the most recently adopted building code. <br />Building, Principal - A building occupied by the principal use of <br />the lot on which it is located. <br />Building Support Structure - Any structure which supports floor, <br />wall or column loads, and transmits them to the foundation. The <br />term shall include beams, grade beams or joists, and includes the <br />lowest horizontal structural member exclusive of piles, columns or <br />footings. <br />Bulky Items - Any tangible item such as furniture, appliances, <br />bicycles, motor vehicles or similar property not having a useful <br />purpose to the owner or abandoned by the owner and not included <br />within the definition of garbage, garden trash, or rubbish. <br />Campground - An area or tract of land on which accommodations for <br />temporary occupancy are located or may be placed, including cabins, <br />tents, and major recreational equipment and which is primarily used <br />for recreational purposes and retains an open air or natural <br />character. <br />Canopy - The upper portion of a tree consisting of limbs, branches, <br />and leaves. <br />17 <br />
