for reasonable access. Native vegetation <br />in the remainder of the shoreline <br />protection buffer shall remain unaltered, <br />except as may be allowed through county <br />trimming regulations. <br />c. Shoreline alteration shall be prohibited, <br />unless it is in the public interest or <br />prevents or repairs erosion damage, or <br />provides reasonable access to the water, does <br />not adversely impact water quality, natural <br />habitat or adjacent shoreline uses, and is <br />permitted by all applicable jurisdictional <br />regulatory agencies. Any native vegetation <br />removed in such instances, except as may be <br />allowed in <br />Chapter 929, shall be relocated or replaced <br />on-site with vegetation comparable in type and <br />amount. <br />5. Required corner visibility. <br />a. Location. On every corner lot, the triangle <br />formed by the street lines of such lot and a <br />line drawn between points on such street lines <br />which are thirty (30) feet from the <br />intersection thereof shall be clear of any <br />structure or planting of such nature and <br />dimension as to obstruct lateral vision; <br />provided that this requirement shall generally <br />not apply to the trunk of a tree, (but shall <br />apply to branches and foliage), or a post, <br />column or similar structure which is not <br />greater than one foot in cross section or <br />diameter. In addition, when applicable, all <br />sight distance requirements of the Indian <br />River County landscape chapter shall also be <br />maintained. <br />b. Vertical clearance. Such lateral vision shall <br />be maintained between a height of thirty (30) <br />inches and ten (10) feet above the average <br />elevation of the existing surface of both <br />streets measured along the center lines <br />adjacent to the visibility triangle. <br />6. Setbacks for certain types of structures are <br />reduced or waived, in accordance with the "yard <br />encroachment" provisions of Chapter 911, Zoning. <br />The following yard encroachments are allowed. <br />a. Structural overhangs. Cornices, awnings, <br />eaves, gutters or other similar structural <br />overhangs, at least seven (7) feet above <br />241 <br />
