sewer service connection constitutes one equivalent residential <br />unit. 2) Each residential room or combination of rooms, designed <br />to be occupied on a permanent or long-term basis, and not otherwise <br />defined as a hotel or motel herein, and each apartment unit, <br />condominium unit, multifamily unit or prepared mobile home space <br />that includes connection points for sewer and/or water service and <br />that is owner -occupied, offered separately for rent as a rental or <br />lease unit. <br />Erosion - The process of the gradual wearing away of land masses. <br />Estuarine Environment - Those lands contiguous and adjacent to the <br />Indian River Lagoon and St. Sebastian River where saturation with <br />water is the dominant factor determining the nature of soil <br />development and the types of plant and animal communities living <br />in the soil and on its surface. <br />Eutrophication - The slow aging process of a lake evolving into a <br />marsh and eventually disappearing. During eutrophication the lake <br />is choked by abundant plant life. Human activities that add <br />nutrients to a water body can speed up this action. <br />Excavation - Removal or recovery by any means whatsoever of soil, <br />rock, materials, mineral substances or organic substances other <br />than vegetation, from water or land on or beneath the surface <br />thereof, or beneath the land surface, whether exposed or submerged. <br />Existing Development - Any development, improvement or impervious <br />surface existing on a project site at the time of request for <br />development order approval or building permits, as applicable. <br />Existing Land Development Activity - The most intense use of land <br />within the twelve (12) months prior to the time of commencing land <br />development activity generating traffic. <br />Extended Littoral Zone Shelf - The most landward extent of the <br />littoral zone, located between control elevation and one vertical <br />foot above control elevation. This segment of littoral zone <br />receives intermittent inundation and is the area where trees are <br />to be planted in association with implementation of water <br />management standards as contained in Chapter 934, Excavation and <br />Mining. <br />Facade - The exterior wall of a building exposed to public view or <br />that wall viewed by persons not within the building. <br />Fair Share Roadway Improvements Fee - The fee required to be paid <br />in accordance with the terms of the Fair Share Roadway <br />Improvements, Chapter 953. <br />False Alarms - All activated alarms, responded to by the fire <br />department which do not qualify as class "A" alarms, including, but <br />not limited to, alarms activated through inadvertence, neglect, <br />accident, alarm testing, or faulty installation or maintenance. <br />34 <br />
