Mine Abandonment - The cessation of mining activities including but <br />not limited to excavation, dewatering, stockpiling, and removal of <br />material offsite for a period of more than one year as reflected <br />in an annual mining report, (reference Chapter 934, Excavation and <br />Mining). <br />Mine Dewatering - Any water that is impounded or that collects in <br />the mine and is pumped, drained or otherwise removed from the mine <br />by the operator. This term shall also include wet pit overflows <br />caused solely by direct rainfall and ground water seepage. <br />However, if a mine is also used for treatment of process generated <br />waste water, discharges of commingled water from the mine shall be <br />deemed discharges of process generated waste water. <br />Mini -Warehouse - A building or group of buildings in a controlled <br />access compound that contains equal or varying size of individual <br />compartmentalized, and controlled access stalls or lockers for the <br />dead storage of customers' goods or wares. <br />Miniature Golf Course - See Commercial Amusement, Unenclosed. <br />Mining - The removal, either in or upon the soil of the earth or <br />beneath the soil, of any valuable inert or lifeless substance <br />formed or deposited in its present position through natural <br />agencies alone, for commercial purposes. Mining shall not include <br />excavation exempt from the requirements of a mining permit, as <br />provided for in Chapter 934, Excavation and Mining, of the county <br />land development code. <br />Minor Coastal Structure - Structures including but not limited to <br />pile -supported, elevated dune and beach walkover structures; beach <br />access ramps and walkways; stairways; pile -supported, elevated <br />viewing platforms, gazebos and boardwalks; lifeguard support <br />stands; public and private bathhouses; sidewalks, driveways, <br />parking areas, shuffleboard courts, tennis courts, handball courts, <br />racquetball courts, and other uncovered paved areas; earth <br />retaining walls; sand fences, privacy fences, ornamental walls, <br />ornamental garden structures, aviaries and other ornamental <br />construction. It shall be characteristic of minor structures that <br />they are considered to be expendable under design wind, wave and <br />storm forces. <br />Mixed Use - A real development characterized by 1) two or more <br />revenue producing uses (such as retail, office, residential, <br />hotel/motel and recreation which are mutually supporting); 2) <br />significant functional and physical integration of project <br />components and 3) development in conformance with a coherent plan <br />which stipulates the type and scale of uses and related items. <br />Mobile Home - A structure which is transportable in one or more <br />sections, which is eight (8) body feet (2.4 m.) or more in width <br />and is thirty-two (32) body feet (9.75 m.) or more in length, which <br />is built on a permanent chassis and which is designed to be used <br />as a dwelling with or without a permanent foundation when connected <br />to the required utilities; and the term includes the plumbing, <br />52 <br />
