Open Space, Private - Common open space held in private ownership, <br />the use of which is normally limited to the occupants of a single <br />dwelling, building, or development. <br />Open Space, Public - Open space owned by a public agency and <br />maintained by it for the use and enjoyment of the general public. <br />Open Space, Recreational and Landscaped - Unroofed or screened <br />roofed ornamental landscaped areas and recreational areas which are <br />easily accessible and regularly available to occupants of all <br />dwelling units on the lot wherein the open space is located. Roof <br />tops, porches, raised decks, parking spaces, driveways, utility and <br />service areas are not calculated as open space. <br />Origin/Destination Survey - The collection of data on a land use <br />resulting from on-site interview to determine trip characteristics <br />about the travel patterns to and from the land use. <br />Other Service Provider - Any state, regional, municipal or other <br />agency having construction, operational or maintenance <br />responsibility for public services or facilities. <br />Outdoor Storage - The keeping in an unroofed area of any goods, <br />material, or merchandise in the same place for more than twenty- <br />four hours. The parking or motor vehicles, in operating condition, <br />which are used in the operation of a commercial establishment shall <br />not be considered outside storage. <br />Owner - The person or persons owning an interest in improved <br />property within the boundaries of Indian River County Florida. <br />Package Wastewater Treatment Plants - Small treatment systems <br />designed and built in modular units and having components similar <br />to larger regional treatment facilities. On-site aerobic treatment <br />units shall be considered as package wastewater treatment plants. <br />Parapet - That portion of the facade which extends above the roof <br />immediately adjacent thereto. <br />Paratransit - Passenger service provided by public, private, or <br />non-profit entities Such as vanpools, jitneys, bus services, and <br />other forms of transportation which are usually characterized by <br />flexible routes and schedules. <br />Parcel (of Land) - Any contiguous quantity of land capable of being <br />described such that its location and boundaries may be established, <br />that is designated by its owner(s) or developer(s) as land to be <br />used or developed as a unit, or that has been used or developed as <br />a unit. <br />Park - A tract of land, legally reserved by the county, state, or <br />federal government or other entity, for use by the public for <br />active and passive recreation. <br />56 <br />
