Reverse Osmosis (RO) - A physical method of water treatment in <br />which water under pressure is forced through a membrane which <br />rejects a percentage of both organic and inorganic impurities <br />within the water. <br />Review Report - An analysis of the effect a project will have on <br />various aspects of the community infrastructure. The extent of the <br />report shall vary with the type, extent and intensity of <br />development. <br />Rezoning Petition - A request to amend the Official Zoning Atlas <br />for a specific parcel of land meeting the requirements of Chapter <br />911, Zoning, and Chapter 902, Administrative Mechanisms. <br />Right -of -Way - Land dedicated, deeded, used, or to be used for a <br />street, alley, walkway, boulevard, utility installations, drainage <br />facility, access for ingress or egress, or other purpose by the <br />public, certain designated individuals, or governing bodies. <br />Riparian Lot Line - A line of division separating the riparian use <br />areas of adjacent waterfront parcels, extending waterward from the <br />point of intersection of a side lot line and a shoreline. The <br />riparian lot line shall be extended to the center line ("thread") <br />of a waterway, and shall be perpendicular to the general course of <br />the waterway at that point. <br />Riparian Side Yard Setback - A setback pertaining to waterfront <br />structures and associated uses equalling the distance of the <br />required side yard setback of a given property, measured from the <br />riparian lot line. <br />Road, Arterial - A road which is a main traffic artery carrying <br />relatively high traffic volumes for relatively long distances. <br />Generally, an arterial road is greater than or planned to be <br />greater than two (2) lanes in width, and longer than two (2) miles <br />in distance. All arterial roads in Indian River County are <br />designated in Figure 4.13.2 (Thoroughfare Plan Map) and listed in <br />Tables 4.7.1 - 4.7.3 of the Traffic Circulation Element of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />Road, Collector - A road which carries traffic from local roads to <br />arterial roads. Collector roads have more continuity, carry higher <br />traffic volumes, and may provide less access than local roads. <br />Generally, collector roads are two-lane facilities and generally <br />operate at lower capacity and operating speeds than do arterial <br />roads. All the collector roads in Indian River County are <br />designated in Figure 4.13.2 (Thoroughfare Plan Map), Traffic <br />Circulation Element, Comprehensive Plan. <br />Road, Local - A road designated and maintained primarily to provide <br />access to abutting property. A local road is of limited continuity <br />and is not for through traffic. A local road is not considered as <br />part of the major road network system. <br />65 <br />
