non-governmental organization, which is licensed by the State of <br />Florida. <br />School, Hazardous Walking Conditions - As per Florida Statutes, <br />Chapter 234, Section 234.021, the conditions perceived to be <br />hazardous to "students" (means "any public elementary school <br />student whose grade level does not exceed grade 6") who live within <br />2 miles from the nearest appropriate school and who walk to school. <br />School, Primary and/or Secondary - A private or public or not for <br />profit institution conducting regular academic instruction at <br />kindergarten, elementary, and secondary levels, operated by a <br />governmental or non-governmental organization, which is licensed <br />by the State of Florida. <br />Screening - A method of visually shielding or obscuring one <br />abutting or nearby structure or use from another by fencing, walls, <br />berms or densely planted vegetation. <br />Seasonal and Migratory Units - Housing units intended by their <br />design, location, or character to be occupied only during certain <br />seasons of the year or held for occupancy by migratory workers <br />employed in farm work during the crop season. <br />Seating Capacity - The actual seating capacity of an area based <br />upon the number of seats or one seat per 18 inches of bench or pew <br />length. For other areas where seats are not fixed, the seating <br />capacity shall be determined as indicated by the Uniform Building <br />Code. <br />Secondary Treatment - A process which removes between 80 and 90 <br />percent of the total organic material and suspended solids from the <br />sewage. This level of treatment generally requires multiple steps <br />involving one biological process and one or more processes for <br />removal of suspended solids. <br />Sediment - Fine particulate material which is capable of gravity <br />settlement, whether mineral or organic, and which is in suspension <br />or has settled in a water body. <br />Segment - One or a series of sequential links identified on the <br />Concurrency Determination Network in which the beginning and ending <br />points are defined by the Director of Public Works using criteria <br />that includes changes in roadway operating characteristics, <br />locations of signalized intersections and municipal boundaries. <br />Self -Service Storage Facility - Any real property designed and used <br />for the purpose of renting or leasing individual storage spaces to <br />tenants who are to have access to such space for the purpose of <br />storing and removing personal property. <br />Septic Tanks - Small scale wastewater treatment facilities <br />consisting of a settling tank for solid precipitation and anaerobic <br />biological action and a drainfield for effluent disposal. <br />67 <br />
