Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70, <br />by a qualified testing agency, and marked for intended location and application. <br />C. QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />Referenced Standards: <br />a. Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) <br />1) Standard 519-1992, IEEE Guide for Harmonic Content and Control. <br />b. Underwriters laboratories <br />1) UL508C <br />c. National Electrical Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) <br />1) ICS 7.0, AC Adjustable Speed Drives <br />d. IEC 16800 Parts 1 and 2 <br />e. National Electric Code (NEC) <br />1) NEC 430.120, Adjustable -Speed Drive Systems <br />2. Qualifications: <br />a. VFDs and options shall be UL listed as a complete assembly. VFD's that require <br />the customer to supply external fuses for the VFD to be UL listed are not <br />acceptable. VFDs with red label UL stickers, requiring additional branch circuit <br />protection are not acceptable. The base VFD shall be UL listed for 100 KAIC <br />without the need for input fuses. <br />1.8 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A. Section 01 — Product Requirements: Product storage and handling requirements. <br />B. Store in clean, dry space. Maintain factory wrapping and provide additional plastic cover to <br />protect units from dirt, water, construction debris, and traffic. <br />C. Handle in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions. Lift only with lugs provided. <br />Handle carefully to avoid damage to components, enclosure, and finish. <br />1.9 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />Environmental Limitations: Rate equipment for continuous operation, capable of driving full load <br />without derating, under the following conditions: <br />1. Ambient Temperature: Not less than 14 deg. F. and not exceeding 104 deg. F. <br />2. Ambient Storage Temperature: Not less than minus 4 deg. F. and not exceeding 140 <br />deg. F. <br />3. Humidity: Less than 95 percent (noncondensing). <br />4. Altitude: Not Exceeding 1000 feet. <br />B. Conform to NEMA ICS 7 service conditions during and after installation of variable frequency <br />controllers. <br />1.10 WARRANTY <br />A. Special Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair or <br />replace VFCs that fail in materials or workmanship within the specified warranty period. <br />B. Furnish five year manufacturer warranty for variable frequency controller. <br />1.11 TRAINING <br />A.
