Building Ordinance continued <br />-8- <br />lation shall be considered ready for inspection until completed as <br />outlined above. <br />(3) When the electrical work in any building for which <br />a permit has been obtained, is ready for inspection, it shall be the <br />duty of the person in charge of work to give notice in writing on <br />forms furnished at the office of the Building Official, stating the <br />location of the work, name of the owner, name of the person in <br />charge of the work and the name of the person doing the work. <br />(4) It shall be unlawful to lathe, seal or in any <br />manner conceal any electrical wiring or equipment until same has <br />been inspected and approved. Service switch and distribution panel <br />must be set and wired. <br />(5) In large and complicated jobs, the work may be <br />inspected in sections, on the approval of the Building Official. <br />(6) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or <br />corporation to use any electric current in or through any wiring appar <br />ratus or fixtures for light, heat or power in any building or structure <br />subject to this resolution before the same shall have been inspected <br />and approved by the Building Official. <br />(7) The electrical installation or part thereof shall <br />not be covered until it has been inspected, tested and approved as <br />prescribed in this section. If an electrical installation or part <br />thereof is covered before being inspected, tested and approved, it shall <br />be uncovered upon the direction of the Building Official. <br />Section 23. Certificate Of Approval. <br />(1) Upon the satisfactory completion of the roughing - <br />in inspection, approval shall be so noted on the Electrical Permit <br />Card. This approval shall give the date of.the roughing -in inspection <br />and the initials of the inspector. <br />(2) Upon the satisfactory completion and final test <br />of the electrical installation, a certificate of approvalshall be <br />issued by the Building Official to be delivered to the owner. <br />Section 24. Existing Installations. <br />(1) If more than fifty percent (50a) of a system that <br />does not conform to this code is remodeled or altered, the entire <br />system shall be reconstructed to conform to this code. <br />(2) A circuit of an existing system which does not <br />conform to this code shall not be extended or added to until the entire <br />circuit shall have been reconstructed to conform to this code. <br />Section 25. Service Entrance Standards. <br />(a) All services shall be run in approved threaded <br />conduit, minimum size one and one-half (1 1/2) inch rigid conduit <br />to be run as a mast through the roof, unless written approval is <br />obtained from the electric utility department. <br />(b) Underground services may be run with approved cable <br />at a minimum depth of thirty (30) inches, from which point it shall be <br />sleeved for mechanical protection. <br />(c) Service masts minimum size 1 1/2 inch Rigid Con- <br />duit, which must be properly secured and have a minimum clearing 30 <br />inches from bottom of the conductors above the roof. Meter trough set <br />5 1/2 feet to 6 feet from finished grade. <br />
