Vero Beach, will jointly hold a public <br />hearing on September 14,19$1, at 7:30 P.M., in <br />the City Council Chambers in the Vero Beach <br />City Hall. <br />The purpose. of -said public hearing is to <br />receive public comment concerning the matter;;:: <br />of the proposed extension of Indian River--, . <br />Boulevard, from the general vicinity of 30th'. <br />Street and extending northward to the vicinity <br />of Barber Avenue.'. <br />Exhibits depicting the proposed project— <br />information will be on display at the Vero <br />Beach City Hall during normal business hours <br />beginning Friday, September 11, 1981, through <br />and including the previously mentioned public <br />hearing scheduled for September 14,1981. <br />At 3:00 P.M. on September 14, 1981, <br />Representatives will be on hand to discuss the <br />project with interested citizens. <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Indian River County <br />By: Patrick B. Lyons, Chairman <br />Aug. 27, 1981. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS STATED THERE WERE TWO PURPOSES OF THE <br />MEETING: TO RECEIVE PUBLIC INPUT CONCERNING THE PROPOSED INDIAN <br />RIVER BOULEVARD AND TO CONSIDER, WITH THE CITY COUNCIL, THE METHOD <br />OF DETERMINING ROAD PRIORITIES IN THE FUTURE. HE THEN REQUESTED <br />THE PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE TO FILL OUT THE CARDS PROVIDED, AND <br />INDICATE ON THE CARD IF THEY WISHED TO BE HEARD, THE CHAIRMAN THEN <br />GAVE A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PROPOSED INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD OVER THE <br />PAST EIGHT OR NINE YEARS. CHAIRMAN LYONS EXPLAINED THAT GASOLINE <br />TAX MONEY IS BEING HELD IN TRUST IN TALLAHASSEE; THE COUNTY HAS BEEN <br />SAVING FOR INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND HAS $3.2 <br />MILLION ON HAND. HE CONTINUED THAT $60,000 A MONTH IS BEING ACCUMULATED <br />
