Discussion followed about the intersection. The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on and carried with a vote of 3 to 2, with Commissioners Bird and Wodtke voting in opposition. Planning Director Rever next discussed the West Wabasso area, where they are considering a mixed use designation. Primarily, he explained, the use is residential, with commercial type of use taking place next to it. This area lends itself more to redevelopment and rehabilitation of the present buildings. Mr. Rever stated that the Planning Staff recommendation is that it remain as it is at LD -2, or 6 units per acre. Ken Pangburn, Wabasso, approached the Board and felt some attention should be given to the West Wabasso area, as was given to the areas in Oslo and Gifford. Discussion followed about redevelopment and rehabilitation of old homes. Planning Director Rever commented that this area should be left as is; LD -2 to the north of Wabasso Road, and LD -1 to the south.
