(2) Parking requirements for two or more principal uses <br />of the same or different types may be satisfied by <br />the allocation of the required number of spaces for <br />each principal use in a common parking facility. <br />(3) Parking lots or loading areas shall have no driveway <br />aisle(s) which deadends without a backing apron <br />with a minimum depth of five (5) feet. <br />(4) All parking spaces shall be equipped with tire stops <br />permanently affixed to the surface except when six <br />(6) inch curbing or the equivalent is installed. <br />(5) Handicap parking spaces shall be reserved and posted <br />in all tourist and commercial land use <br />classifications. Handicap parking spaces shall be <br />located in proximity to the main and secondary <br />entrances, and ramps to sidewalks shall be provided <br />and conveniently located in relationship to the <br />handicap parking spaces. The required number of <br />handicap parking spaces shall be as required by the <br />Standard Building Code. <br />(6) Where handicapped parking is required, each space so <br />designated shall have a minimum width of not less than <br />twelve (12) feet and be accompanied by a ramp access <br />to the building in accordance with the requirements of <br />the County -City Building Department. <br />(7) The delineation of all required parking spaces, <br />dumpster spaces, loading areas, and <br />other striping requirements shall be identified <br />using the striping and visual contrast criteria <br />of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices <br />(Federal Highway Administration FHWA). <br />(c) Entries, exits, drives and vehicle maneuvering areas. <br />(1) All uses which are required to provide three or more <br />off-street parking spaces shall have entry and exit - <br />ways and drives at least twenty-two (22) feet in <br />width to accommodate two-way traffic unless a one-way <br />traffic system is utilized, in which case entry and <br />exitways and drives shall be at least eleven (11) feet <br />in width. In the event a one-way traffic system is <br />utilized, appropriate traffic direction markers shall <br />be installed at all appropriate intersections. Drives <br />and maneuvering areas shall provide proper turning <br />radii to permit convenient maneuvering of cars and <br />service vehicles into and out of each parking and <br />loading space. No occupied parking or loading space <br />shall interfere with access to any other parking or <br />loading space, or with any pedestrian walkway. <br />(2) Except for single-family residential dwellings and <br />duplexes, all parking access shall be designed so as <br />to prevent the need to back directly onto a public <br />road or right-of-way. <br />(3) Access points to public or private streets shall be <br />kept to a minimum, with widths not in excess of <br />twenty-four (24) feet, unless said requirements are <br />jointly adjusted by the County Traffic Engineer and the <br />County Community Development Director; and the <br />distance to any street intersection (right-of-way to <br />access points nearest paved edge) shall be no less <br />than thirty (30) feet, unless said requirements are <br />jointly adjusted by the County Traffic Engineer and <br />the County Community Development Director. <br />-5- <br />
