�¢ P"'-595 <br />JAN <br />59 <br />JAN 201981 <br />New 100 Year Flood Rate Ma <br />The Board next considered the following memorandum <br />from the County Administrator: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of DATE: January 13, 1982 FILE: <br />the Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: <br />Neil Nelson <br />Countv Administrator <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />SUBJECT: New 100 Year Flood Rate Map <br />(FIRMS) <br />REFERENCES: <br />On December 29, 1981, the County Attorney submitted an inter -office <br />memorandum to the Chairman of the County Commission and Administrative <br />Staff regarding the appeal process of property owners adversely affected <br />by the new. FIRM elevations. The key points stressed in the memorandum <br />follows: <br />1) The Administration designate a staff person to coordinate <br />the process; <br />2) Each municipality within the County be contacted to determine <br />the feasibility of combining efforts in this matter; <br />3) The County establish a hearing date to receive individual <br />appeals regarding the FIRM map; <br />4) Staff develop an appeal form; <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The Administration has designated: <br />1) Planning and Zoning Department as the lead agency in coor- <br />dinating the process. -Dennis Ragsdale of the Planning and <br />Zoning Department is designated as the Project Manager for <br />this program. He will be responsible for: <br />a) Development of an appeal form; <br />b) Contacting by letter and telephone the municipalities <br />to determine their interest in working with the County <br />regarding the appeal process. <br />c) Taking necessary action to ensure that all procedural <br />requirements are met. <br />d) Forwarding appeal comments and County concerns to the <br />F.E.M.A. (Federal Emergency Management Agency) as the <br />lead agency, the Department will establish the operating <br />procedures with the municipalities if necessary. <br />� � r <br />
