F. Pistol Permit Renewals <br />Administrator Nelson commented that the entire pistol <br />permit procedure had been revamped over a year ago but since <br />recent discussions with the Sheriff, it was felt that the <br />instructions should be improved and intensified. He added <br />that the staff's recommendation is not to issue any more <br />permits until such time as a full analysis has been made. <br />Attorney Brandenburg suggested that the ordinance <br />should be revised or the weapons handling course should be <br />upgraded. <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt that we should process those <br />applicants who have already gone through the training <br />course but not accept any new applications. <br />Sheriff Dobeck expressed concern about possibly putting <br />somebody in a liability situation. He added that the <br />instructor, Larry Tippins, had a problem with applicants <br />bringing guns to the training course that were not safe. <br />Lengthy discussion followed. <br />On Motion made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously approved the <br />following pistol permit renewals: <br />Jerry Martin Johnson <br />Arthur Harry Sidelinger <br />Thomas Martin Fortson <br />On Motion made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously approved the <br />following pistol permit applications: <br />Lothar K.
