This year's budget included a certain amount of growth of Vista Royale and <br />Treasure Coast Utilities and the simultaneous deletion of the Pebble Bay System. <br />The addition of Treasure Coast and the deletion of Pebble Bay would theoretically <br />balance out the work load. However, we did not delete Pebble Bay and Treasure Coast <br />is in much worse condition than originally thought. We now plan to add Ixora Park <br />and Laurel Homes, an additional 457 connections. The Vista Royale system has grown <br />.from 172 to 690 connections. As you can see, the revised 81-82 figures represent <br />a 100'0' increase in connections over what was expected. <br />In addition to the growth discussed above, we are currently involved in the <br />planning stages for a surge of growth, both in county systems, and in franchises. <br />We now have 26 franchise applications in different stages of progress - we normally <br />have 3 to 5 in process. A franchise resolution is being prepared to provide fees <br />to be paid by the developer to offset the cost -of processing the franchise agree- <br />ment. <br />Alternatives & Analysis <br />It is obvious that additional resources will be required to accomplish the <br />increased work load.
