APR 211982 BOOK -K..4 .F�� 436 <br />Discussion followed, and it was determined that any <br />requests concerning the Courthouse problems be in writing <br />and come directly to the Administrator. <br />The Board briefly discussed the glue used in the dais <br />and the jury box. <br />I <br />Lynn Williams, Building Superintendent, advised that in <br />a recent conversation"with Judge Stikelether, the judge felt <br />the wood should also be removed. <br />Commissioner Lyons inquired if staff had replied to <br />Judge Smith's letter. <br />Dr. Hardin responded that it had not been done. <br />Commissioner Bird reported that at the last meeting, <br />staff was to reply promptly, step by step, to Judge Smith's <br />lettdt'. He was under theme impression that a reply was to be <br />drafted immediately on each item. <br />Commissioner Lyons suggested the Attorney first look at <br />the letter to Judge Smith before it is mailed. <br />Dr. Hardin advised the judges are asking that three <br />windows be installed in the Courtroom; he would need to have <br />authorization from the Board to do this work. <br />Mr. Williams explained they requested this be done for <br />ventilation. He pointed out that originally there were <br />windows in the Courtroom. <br />Dr. Hardin stated the judge informed them that if the <br />carpet works in the Welfare Building, then Judge Smith will <br />expect that all the carpeting be removed in the Courthouse. <br />He then talked about the noise problem in Courtroom A and B; <br />the volume on the microphones have to be adjusted. <br />Discussion ensued, and it was determined that the basic <br />problem is "human" as the attorneys will just not stay in <br />the podium and speak into the microphone. <br />Dr. Hardin reported that they were trying to come up <br />with a hand microphone. <br />
